So what exactly do you tell the customer who has purchased two from a third party reseller?

Is there anything in any terms and conditions available to a customer, or any notice at third party resellers the max is one?

Entering a chat is not notice to the customer. I would suggest if D* is going to limit the number of HR34s they get control of their third party resellers and make that point up front.

As others have posted I can understand DIRECTV not offering discounts on a second one, but I hope DIRECTV changes their policy about activating a second HR34, as I really want a second one.

Wasnt notifying anyone i was curious just as you were, i get on this board on my own time. Seems to me if some one is going to take it upon themselves to sell DTV equipment they should be aware of the policies and procedures. But then you have sites like weeaknees selling people leased equipment but saying you can call DTV and have it changed to owned...thats a laugh

    @dpeters...man that was quick!

I ordered an HR-34 thru this company, DishBuys.com Yesterday 5-15 in the morning and it was delivered via UPS Overpacked at 3:00 PM today 5-16

It was 319.00 and free shipping via UPS

Will change out other receivers to compliment the Home Media Center with 3 H25's and keep an HR21 and an HR23 til the stability improves on the HMC

I have to run a few cables and install my SWM-16 because of increased tuner count

Going from a SWM LNB to a Legacy LNB-SWM-16

Enjoy doing my own install so I went this way vs DirecTv and any deal or no deal I could get.

I just got one of these installed last Wednesday. The thing rattles so bad, I called Directv to have them do something about it. I was told by the service manager to put a towel under it. Stuck with a two year commitment and NO COMMITMENT from Directv to providing quality NEW equipment. I am not happy.

The one I received on Tuesday has been flawless. (Knocks on wood)

Do you have Directv's protection plan?

Rarely if ever is putting a towel under electronics a good idea.

It sounds to me like you got a lemon. I would tell directv that it is not working. They have to stand by their product.

    Good luck.

I've had my HR34 for over 2 1/2 weeks now, and while I have certainly seen some quirky behavior at times, undoubtably due to its early stage in software development, acoustic wise its been as quiet as a mouse.

I'd definitely advise the OP to have DIRECTV replace the box.

My statement of flawless was an overstatement. It has been quirky which I agree with your reasoning of such. But it has performed flawlessly as far as my viewing and recording has been concerned.

    Mine is also silent.

If it's not working then demand something be done....ask for a supervisor!
