My HR24-100 and both of my H24-100s show new firmware as of yesterday morning. Anyone have information on what this release contains?

    HR24-100/200 got 413, HR24-700 got 412.

Still no ETA on the release notes.

It seems that not only are the software versions diverging between models but also manufacturers within the same model.

This could start to get really ugly. :)

There was some "cleanup" in the latest update...so they must have decided to push that version out. Release notes? Likely all they would contain is "under the hood" on 0413/0412.

The numbering isn't that big a deal.

I got the update last night. Ever since, my box cannot maintain an Internet connection. Thank you, DirecTV. Please fix by removing this update. It's no good.

I suspect you may have other issues at your location, as this new version runs successfully here, passes all tests, and handles the Internet connection solid.

I suspect you suspect without knowing the facts.

    (i) Never had a Internet connection issue with old box - HR20/700
(ii) All connections were working when box was installed.
(iii) Problem did not manifest itself until Wed, following the software download 0x014 early that morning.
(iv) Have rebooted modem, router, DVR, you name it, with no success.
    (v) Just got off phone with tech support. who was of little help, but having technician calling back.

My hunch is software install is the root of the problem. Just b/c yours works fine does not mean that its my Internet connection is the problem. There's a well-documented history here of software updates causing problems to some boxes, not others.

Let's just call this cleanup of the earlier release .. There will likely be one more cleanup release coming in the next 2-4 weeks. This is a good thing as it's looking like the last few killer bugs are getting squashed on the 24s. (yeah, there were still a few problematic ones).

Thanks, Doug. Tech called. Someone calling back to set up free priority service call. This box is going back anyway. Discovered upon reviewing first recording that there's a static electrical sound whenever in FF/RW/Skip mode. Had tech listened to over phone. Just waiting 'til I view non-re-recordable content, which may not happen for a week or so, before having replacement shipped. But in the meantime, need to get Internet issues resolved.

Nobody is a mind reader here if those little tidbits aren't posted in the first place to help diagnose things.... ;)

Since the Internet connection has several components....any one of those could come into play, even if it did work in the past. I actually went through a very similar situation early this year...only to find out it was a router firmware issue.
