I hate it when I agree with the Jr. Senator from NY. Pt Deux.

Richard, so it's Sunday and you agree with what she said today. But wait until Tuesday and see. Or, did you forget what she said last week? My point is not the dates, but rather that she flips back and forth and says whatever will get her approval ratings up. She is so shallow. I don't even think she can remember what her position was when.

Don, you hit it on the head. I agree with what she SAID, NOT what she believes. They are two different things.

    The...
    Boycott May 1?

So it looks like we are going to have two Mexican holidays early in May -
"Illegal Mexican Immigrant Day' on the 1st, and "Cinco de Mayo" on the 5th.
My suggestion is why not just make it a week!

We could call it "Go Back Wetback Week"

"Wetback", huh? That'll contribute to an intelligent discussion of immigration issues:rolleyes: . Have you been racist all your life or just OD'ing on Rush?

I never did see what people saw in that band. I had some friends though that really liked them back when they were big.

WARNING: POLITICALLY INCORRECT AND INSENSITIVE STATEMENT COMING...

All of the "wetbacks" in this country are here illegally. However, we should welcome them like we have all the micks, krauts, spicks, moullies, kikes, hebes, limeys, frogs, i-ties, slopes, wops, dagos, canuks, Charlies, dot heads, towel heads, etc. that have come here illegally. Kick 'em out of the country and make 'em apply like most of our ancestors did.

A caring note from your local decendant of a bunch of micks, krauts and kilt-wearin' Scotsmen...

We now return you to your sterotypical liberal blathering...

    ;)

Alright...haven't been called a liberal in a long time. The terms Ray uses are equally as hateful as the term "wetback", and those words aren't used anymore except maybe among the bigots down at the corner bar. Yes, we do need to get a handle on the immigration issue, but the issue gets muddied by the subtle and not so subtle racism against Mexicans (and Central Americans, who get called Mexicans). I agree with tighter border security, and increased penalties for businesses who employ illegal (note I did not use the liberal term "undocumented") aliens. I have no problem with those who advocate tighter borders, I do have a problem with racists.

PS My ancestors arrived here before there was a Dept of Immigration, and therefore "undocumented". It was about 1703 or so....We are all immigrants.

First, forgot the smiley on my post. It was meant to be a rude joke, but something Eddie Murphy or Ralphie May would have said. A majority of those words posted are one's I don't use, I recall a lot of them from Johnny Dangerously and Enemy of the State...

Second, probably didn't come across right, but my comment about returning to liberal blathering was meant towards dealing with symbolism over substance. Nick and I pretty much agree with you (speaking for Nick) on the need to improve border security. It's just that we're both of the old school where results matter and that all the hand wringing (by many on the left, not meaning to include you) over meanings of words and worrying about offending others generally leaves things unsaid that need to be said (not ethnic insults, but topics of immigrations, pornography, abortion, etc.).

Third, I don't expect my original post to be there long, but it was intended to bring light to the fact that many people deal with names and feelings rather than to get things done.
