The cost doesn't matter to me at all. Money is not the factor. This morning as I have since Wednesday, I've been looking at all of the dishes in my complex and I saw an intl dish that was huge. It was mounted...so why is he telling me mounting mine would be an issue? It makes no sense if someone else in the complex has one. As I drove by this morning I made a decision to knock on their door and their neighbors to see whose dish it is and ask who installed it; Dish Network or a contractor.
And I have Comsuck NOW. That is who I'm trying to get rid of. Dish is cheaper and I will get international channels for the same price I'm paying with Comsuck.

I just hope a supervisor or senior tech comes out tomorrow and they have no issues getting done what needs to be done. Seriouslyn, its really not that deep.
Anyone want to come and install me? LOL
    I can pay ya!

Personaly, if I was you. I would:

    1. Stop current installation right now.
    2. Find out the exact satellite installation requirements for your complex from the property manager.
    3. Call local Dish retailer and get a quote.
To me it seems like a waste of time, money and sanity to continue "waiting" to see what happens.

I sorta had the same thing happen and got a quote from a local installer/electrician for a $300 installation but when I got the exact specs on what was allowed it was actually completed for free by a Dish installer.

You know I'm angry, right? That jackhole on Wednesday told me to my face Saturday someone was coming out...and then he left a message about two hours later stating someone was coming Saturday afternoon. I sat home all day today and by 3 no one showed up...so I called Dish...the rep claims my appointment is now tomorrow between 8-12.

Ok, this is really starting to piss me off. Now I have to miss church, its going to be pouring raining and then who knows....I might get the same simple butt answers I got Wednesday. I am so ready to call a local installer, but don't want to choose someone that sucks. I cannot believe I sat here all day waiting for nothing. I still have the message on my phone from the original tech and I told the Dish rep that...but she kept insisting the appt is Sunday.

So after I made that call, I went grocery shopping and there was a Directv truck installing someone in the complex...I was so tempted to tell him, "SIGN ME UP!" :p;)

I'm thinking that things like this happen to you a lot. Not judging, just a guess.

Actually....NO. So I don't understand what the heck is goin on. I'm a planner by nature and it has taken my 3 years to read all I can about *E and *D and decide to switch to satellite.
This just makes no sense to me. Maybe I'm not listening and just need to give up this grandiose idea of having Dish and stick with Comsuck.

That sucks, if you have the installers phone number on the caller id from when he left that message, I would have called that. My guess is that Dish Network is telling you Sunday because thats what the installer told them. This was probably their fault. Although at this point in the night, would not do much good to call the installer. I would definately ask them about it tommorow.

Ok, the contractor/installer came about 30 minutes ago. He is on the roof...he stated he has no problem attaching the dish to the stupid sewer stack or whatever it's called...but he was concerned about it snapping in high winds....he stated that the Association didn't put any conditions in the letter about size of the dish...so they would be responsible for replacing the stack if it cracked. I don't know if it's true...but nothing on the authorization form says anything about the size....so he could be right.

I will keep you up to date.

The agents, unfortunately, not allowed to give out the DNS numbers.

If they do or don't, I am not allowed to say, only that they are not supposed to...

They are able to give you local authorized retailers in the area, it is based on your zipcode. It still includes a 90-day warranty as well.

    Northern...
Glad to hear this. You mentioned your "Association" in your original thread but somehow I missed it and didn't take into account potential problems within that environment. So I'm glad it's working out.;)
