Not a shock. Most countries in such situations keep war plans they update frequently if the need should arise. We have one for China, NK, Iran, etc., I'm sure.

In fact both the US and Canada have contingency plans to invade the other. By itself it means nothing.

Oh dear lord.. My mom lives in that area and SHE can tell you that the Stuckeys is not IN Terre Haute - it's SOUTH about 20 minutes on US-41!

Hmmm... What are those black helicopters outside the window?

I tried to sit through that once. I could not so it. It is an absolutely horrible film IMHO.

The 1995 movie by Michael Moore starred Alan Alda, Jim Belushi, John Candy, Rhea Perlman and Rip Torn.
People who have lived in both Canada and the U. S. found it to be funny. Those of us who haven't lived "North of the Border" just didn't get it. It must have been pretty low on the radar, because I hadn't heard of it, and had to do a Google search to get the above info. Ho, hum .

To be fair... there is an old adage, or cliche, or however you want to think of it...

Prepare for the worst... hope for the best!

Some amount of preparations for a wide variety of scenarios is absolutely prudent, and I'm not a fan of warfare... but I'm not a fool either, and realize that sometimes you get forced into doing what you don't want.
