Mine said June 28th, 2007. So I would say that these are very much hot off the press.
I'm hoping mine is with the afternoon delivery at work, if not, I guess it's going to be left outside at home. Hope they remember to put it by the side door.
what no ones taken the top of yet?
I want to see those toppless photos.
harddisk make? size? broadcom cpu?
Mine has a mfg date of 06/29/07.
Mine was also 06/29/07. Made in China.
Spanky, no dog but 3 killer cats. I always set the alarm before I leave and I have a daughter who works for the county. The deputys can get here quickly. However, let me know if you want to come over and take a look. The same goes for anyone else here in Austin.
No "killer" cat, but I'll find you by all the fur he'll leave on ya
One other note. The blue ring is on the dimmest setting and I cannot change it to different brightness settings or off like on the HR20. I will refrain from doing a reset just for that until I have some more important reason.
They are hot off the press. The H21's that were sent to some of us were only 2-3 weeks old.
I was scrambling to get back to work but what I did was set it to the static IP of the decommissioned HR20. I also added the MAC to my allowed list. I'll reset to defaults and see what it does when I get home. This is way odd because the "G" light comes on for a bit and then disappears. If I stll have problems tonight I'll take it in to replace my hardwired one and see if it's a wireless issue. I've also rebooted the router.
Now are you saying these are underage? :eek2:
I hope my box is ok....Its rain cats and dogs here in Cleveland and I am work
Now that I chased the FedEx guy down the street with a butterfly net so he would stop and drop off the box...
Mine is here. Hallelujah.
Since others are doing such a fine report job, here is my short report, and alot of photos....
As you will see, I have included several photos – including the box as it arrived, what came inside the box, and of course, the HR21 itself.
I’m sure you’ve already noticed that this unit has a black outer case, which many of us anticipated. The form factor on the case is a basic replica of the HR20 unit only sleeker becuase of the finish and some "rounding" of corners.
The unit comes with a 320GB internal hard drive.
The photo of the back of the units shows all the connections and ports. As you see, there are 2 Ethernet ports (one with a “plug”), apparently for future use. There are also 2 sat in connections, 1 HDMI port out, Component connections, digital and optical audio output, Front and rear USB ports, as well as an eSata port (hurray!). There is also a neat new Access Card with a sat photo on it.
The unit feels measurably lighter than my HR20, but I’d have to check further to compare their weights later – the HR21 is about the same physical size as the HR20. Since it doesn’t contain tuners for OTA, the slightly-lighter weight doesn’t come as a real surprise.
Once I opened up the package, I read through the instructions quickly (yes, I know this is a big no-no, but I wanted to make sure there wasn’t some kind of surprise warning or anything.
I plan to connect the unit in my Family Room (moving my current receiver to another room). It will be connected to one of the SWM5 ports (probably my FTM port 1 via a splitter just waiting for it.).
There will be more info and photos coming in my HR21 report part II ASAP, after the install and setup are done.
Here are some more photos....
HDTVfan0001 Happy Birthday. :hb:
Thanks for the photos, too.
