OK, what exactly is superfan? Is it Sunday Ticket in HD? So, without it all the games would be in SD?

so let me get this straight...you were offered ST for 289 - 120 at 10 per month and free SF a 99 value...essentially getting ST and SF for 169....and you passed...am i correct?:bang

SuperFan is what is required along with HD Access on your programming package and a 5LNB dish to receive the Sunday Ticket games in HD. There are many other things that you get with SuperFan...the games in HD is just one of them.

Just joined DirectTV last week. They were nice enough to give me the superfan for free. I look forward to checking it out in action.

Think I should try and call them tomorrow to see if this is still available? I've been a customer since February.

    Nope, wasn't kidding.

While I've been here a few years and have had D* for even more, I've never had Sunday Ticket and don't know what all the intricacies of it are.

    Thanks for the reply Justin.

You're welcome. While most on here do complain that it isn't fair to pay an additional $99 for SuperFan to see the games in HD, there is so much more to SuperFan besides the HD games! My faves are the Game Mix (watch multiple games at once on one screen) and SuperCast where u can stream Sunday Ticket games to your PC anywhere in the world if you are traveling and won't be at your receiver to watch them at home.

Well, I've never purchased Sunday Ticket because I couldn't justify the price. I travel during the week and weekends have become family time with my wife and 3 & 5 year olds (even gave up Fantasy Football 6 years ago). I typically only watch the late Sunday game, Monday night football and any Thursday games. I was thinking of attempting to get this deal, however, mainly because of the premier for 4 months. Unless they threw in Superfan, the Sunday Ticket part would be useless to me. Even if I had the time, I wouldn't watch any game in SD. So, while the other SF features might be nice, I have to have HD.

Well I tried. The CSR took her time checking around but said it was for new customers only. But then she shocked me by saying that since I'm a good customer she can give me 20 dollars off my bill for 6 months and free starz for 6 months.

    I guess I'm glad I called.

I was also told this was only for new customers, and I wasn't offered any other deals.

I was also told this was only for new customers, though I pointed out it was documented online that many existing customers HAD received this deal. I was then offered $20/month off my bill for six months ($120 total) if we purchased Sunday Ticket for $222, no free Superfan. Definitely not worth it so I turned it down. (My husband wouldn't want to watch the games in SD either.) We've been customers for 11 years, always at the highest level, but never had any of the sports packages before. My husband would love to try it, but we didn't want to spend the money, though this seemed a good enough offer to give it a go. (By the way, I'm not mad we didn't get it, just relaying what happened. Frankly, I feel my husband already watches plenty of football. :)

I emailed them and could not get the deal. They did offer $10 off for a year plus free Starz for six months. I gladly accepted their offer.
