Would that be a 21-100 by any chance?

No, its a 21-200. Do you have any idea what is going on with this receiver?

    Thanks.

might try pulling the access card, cleaning it with an eraser and plugging it back in. if that doesn't work, try reauthorizing it online.

Might be any number of things. Not sure what that 721 error message is. I've had two 21-200s and one worked properly. They do seem to be relatively problem free tho. Until you know what the 721 means, I don't know what to tell you. If you have another HR you should hook it up to the same cables the 200 is on and see if you get that same message. If you do, then you've got a "system" problem, dish, cabling etc. If you don't, you've got a bad HR. Happens.

Try Litzdog's suggestion, he's usually spot on with stuff like this.

Yes, I did that but no change. The Directv tech came out and after rewiring to the latest code, (two cables instead of four for two receivers) still the same error.

He just left after four hours trying to get it fixed. Finally he put in a new HR22 and it works perfectly.

Thank you all for your help. I appreciate it.

And since no one welcomed you to D*Hell, may I be the first? Won't be the last time you visit. Glad the problem is solved. Ever find out what 721 means?

Thanks. 721 is "no authorization to receive this channel). In other words, no channel was authorized to receive lol.

Huh. With all the problems I've had since 06, I've never been blessed with that one. Unless, of course, I went to a channel that was not authorized. I thought that was what the 721 meant, but wanted to make sure.
