I was on the Dish Network website, and I live well inside the Topeka, KS DMA and it said that Kansas City is now a Distant Network city with Denver, New York, LA...

When did this come about? They used to be on Spot Beam on 119*

    Here is a screen shot.

I had my superdish installed on Tuesday and added the Topeka locals. I heard that KC locals were available as an option for my distant nets waiver. I called dish and they confirmed. I switched my Chicago distants for KC locals.

    I know have

    Topeka locals
    KC locals
    LA Distant Nets

See the screen shot in the first post.

E* is beginning to offer regional distant channels to people who qualify for distants *and* live within the spot beam that the foreign locals are on.

I hope they continue this trend.

Portland, Denver, Kansas City and Dallas are "Regional" Distant Networks on Dish. (Within that city's spot)

NYC, LA, Chicago and Atlanta are NATIONAL Distant Networks on Dish.

Are these the only cities available as a "Regional" distant. I know here in north fl I can get several spot beam transponders. Tampa, Orlando, Tallahassee ect. This is an interesting development And I would like to know more.

They are the only ones I found so far. In the few Florida places I tried that qualify for distant nets, Atlanta was the closest distant net available.

I received a similar screen shot that showed KC regionals available to me (along with the standard distant nets) when I checked network availability from "My Account" and "Add Programing" "Local Channels"

I am already approved for Distant Nets, so the Dish site must have my waiver reflected when I log into "My Account" at Dish's site.
