Yeah they are very busy.I put my order in on 11-03 and the earliest install was yesterday.

If you have spare time and want to put the effort in call up tech support once in awhile to see if there were any canceled appointments and if they can get to you earlier.

    I just found a post at lakersground.net:

    Link: http://216.151.186.210/viewtopic.php?p=4810028#4810028

User "ihatetheceltics" posted this earlier tonight:

Post subject: just got off phone w. Directv

"Take it for what it's worth. The rep told me they had good news. They received an email saying they reached agreement and are finalizing w TW. BUT, fans will have to PAY to see the Lakers on DTV. They did not pick up the cost. He also said they are no longer doing anything like discounts to hold onto customers".

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

Not sure if it's ok to quote someone from another forum...?

Anyhow, I clearly cannot confirm the email details are legit. However, I can confirm the second part of the post. I called twice today, spoke to two CSRs. Told both CSRs I was thinking of canceling DIRECTV due to the lack of TWC Sportsnet. Both of them failed to offer a single discount or anything to me. So to me, it sure looks like the second part of the post is legit.

Also, the comment about "DIRECTV did not pickup the cost". That sounds too funky to be a lie or made up. Fingers crossed. My $3.95 is ready to roll. :D

And i will start a war protesting the amount i have to pay for a part time "network". I have already called DirecTV to voice my displeasure and will continue to do so for the ripoff by TWC and the apparent ripoff by DirecTV. I will not go quietly in the night. This is bull%$#@

This is FAR from anything official. I just wanted to post what I found on another site. Peace.

Possible.... At a minimum though, I wouldn't ever let one installer take out or use cable for another. I'd tell them I am going to have both services, so that you can always do whatever you want easily.(obviously may not always be possible, but if it is....)

29 bucks and I'm getting 30 minimum speed wise... With charter....

And that's suspicious from Verizon... Unless something has changed, I was under the impression all the wiring was brand new for FIOS all the way to your house, so old wiring for phone lines should not be a factor.

I think the one thing we should all agree on, there is no great company that is great everywhere for everyone.

Wait, if that's right they are sounding like they may have put it in the sports pack and that makes you mad? And that makes it a rip off? Is that what you are saying?

Not blaming you....just looking to voice my displeasure at what will probably happen soon from reading other websites. If it happens i, and most other people, will demand free HBO/Showtime etc. for six months.

It'd be $30 for a year here for 30Mbps, and $45 a year after that. But for me the biggest problem is the cap. 100GB a month isn't enough for a PC gamer/streamer/VOD user. Looking at my logs I surpass that every month. Plus I'm currently getting a nice $15 discount from bundling DirecTV with Verizon, so my speed might suck, but I'm not paying much. :p

And yeah, it is suspicious from Verizon because I was under the same impression. I have friends all around me who have FiOS, but our section doesn't. Whatever the reason, they stopped the rollout a couple years ago, so I don't think we'll ever get it.

But back to TWC...if they do pass the cost on to customers, I wonder how much it'd be? Somehow I don't think it'd be $3.95.

$12.99 per month or included in Premier, includes out of market RSNs (subject to blackout) and a few other sports channels. Or as DirecTV puts it:

If this is true, which I don't think it is, how can TWCSN offer the channel a la carte to D* but not offer it to other providers? I thought a channel had to offer a channel in the same way to everyone?

Thanks, but no thanks. I heard the Dodgers contract is up on Nov.28th with Fox. If TWC gets the Dodgers then we'll talk. In the meantime i'm perfectly happy watching the Lakers online as well as watching other sports on my HDTV on FSW, ESPN, NBC, CBS, ABC, TNT, TBS, NBATV, NHLTV, MLBTV, NFLTV, etc.

Way off topic but: Verizon will bring the fiber right to your house and install an ONT. From there it's no different than any other phone or cable install. If you had cable before they will use the current wiring though they may replace some splitters.

I'm in SoCal with Charter and yes the prices are high (they did give me a discount) but there is no such thing as a cap. I'm in Riverside.

you're not paying attention to what he said. There's software that will change your IP address, regardless of your DirecTV zip code. In fact, your DirecTV zip code is irrelevant when it comes to broadband. Only thing that matters is where the League Pass Broadband thinks you are viewing from. And If your IP is outside of the Lakers, area, you will be able to view their games on it.

I wonder if those interested ONLY in L.A. Galaxy games will have to pay that same amount.... I could care less about basketball, and we're in the MLS playoffs so it wouldn't affect me till next season.... but it wouldn't be fair If Galaxy fans would have to pay the 95% of the money that will go to the Lakers.

For now, as we have seen with all tweets, forum posts, and people claiming to have inside knowledge: NOTHING is confirmed, we have seen soooo many false tweets and forums posts with PAC12 and these channels, I don't believe anything anymore until I see Sixto post his findings, or SatelliteRacer confirms it. :D

But they are missing Hallmark and Hallmark Movie Channel. If you don't care about sappy Christmas movies for the rest of the year (they'll start soon.....), no problem! If your wife expects to watch them again this year, you will have a very angry wife if you switch to U-Verse, as they don't carry those channels (and have not been since 2010) due to a dispute.

If it raises the cost of the Sports Pak and they have no interest in it (as most in the country), why shouldn't they be mad?

It may not though. As you said, there might not be enough interest in the channel in the rest of the country due to blackouts.... but they will get a whole lot of $12.99 signups in the L.A. area which would offset the costs.

I pay $11 by the way, but I think that is because I also pay for HBO.
