The channel did carry the Wyoming-UNLV football game Saturday in the clear for Sports Pack subs outside SoCal. It will also carry many UNLV & SDSU basketball games coming up, and hopefully they will also be in the clear.

Now if DTV would just add the PAC12 network - any hope?

Still weak. Where are even the scores of other nba games? It looks like an in house (meaning at the arena) channel.

Theres soccer on at 10. LOL

But yeah I agree with you. Another reason why they don't need 24/7 RSN's. I'm still for game only channels.

I'm seeing NBA scores (from last night right now) regularly cycling through on the bottom line ticker.

But anyway you are right, more content needs to be added. Only so much extra programming you can build around a single team to fill a 24/7 RSN broadcast schedule I suppose.

However, as 30+ year die-hard Lakers fan, what I really wanted from this channel was just access to the Lakers games which TWC SN has exclusive rights to. Not so much for all the extra programming stuff. :)

I mean other than a ticker. Come on. Game highlights. Discussion. They might as well turn the channel off 20 hours a day.

They had a Mountain West football game on yesterday. Most RSNs are junk 20 hours a day, TWCSN is hardly the exception.

    Agreed;

And at least TWC SN makes an attempt to go 24/7 instead of going to infomercials in the late night-early morning hours, even though a lot of the program schedule is filled by repetition.

Okay. 24 hours a day except the day the Lakers are on then 22.

You aren't getting what I'm saying. They cover NOTHING except their own programming. My TWO RSNs here show highlights of other games. Discuss things they don't actually carry. Local and national sports. TWC discusses their own reality shows more than even dissecting any games including their own.

    Junk TV.

The freakin channel is an infomercial. You don't get at all. It is 100% infomercial for its couple of hours of live programming a week.

What you are saying isn't true. South Dakota at Gonzaga live basketball on right now. Rockets at Lakers at 9:30 ET. College football yesterday.

Most RSNs are junk to most people 90% of the time. Fox Sports Detroit is most of the time Fox Sports "syndicated" junk like Poker, Premier League highlights, Paid Programming, extreme sports highlights, car shows, hunting shows, and numerous Fox Sports RSN national games I couldn't care any less about.

Don't watch the channel then! It's new, it's starting out...fledgling...give it some time. And yes, not that it matters, I have seen other team scores shown on the crawl.

I see nothing wrong with that, though. It is the "Lakers" channel after all. (Okay, so Sparks and Galaxy, too)

But anyhow, if one wanted to see some discussion about other teams or other sports, one could always tune to ESPN or NBA TV.

This is a specialty channel so why not show Lakers all day long, even if they are mostly repeats?

Personally, I do enjoy the behind-the-scenes coverage that they offer: Backstage Lakers, Laker Girls, Connected With..., etc. along with the extended pre-game and post-game coverage with #Lakeshow and Access SportsNet: Lakers.

Crap. Other RSNs started with highlight shows and at least mentioned other teams in the same league.

They do a good job on the games but to deny that it is a weak channel otherwise is just being blind.

At least that is PROGRAMMING and not just a continuous infomercial for their own games. Just MENTION someone other than Lakers or Galaxy. How about a discussion of a dodger trade? A highlight of a non-Laker, non-Galaxy game.

Great that they do the Laker games and have bought syndicated rights to a couple of other events. It is still an infomercial for itself.

For the avid to hard core (like me) Lakers fans should I have a problem with that?

While I concede more original content may be needed in the future to help cut down on some of the repetition, I have no other problems with this channel. Its a virtual 24/7 Lakers channel for their fans.

As have been stated if you are interested in more impartial egalitarianism for coverage of the other NBA clubs, then this channel is not for you and need to go to something like ESPN or NBA TV for that purpose.

Would you consider a Sushi Restaurant a weak restaurant because they don't have porterhouse steaks, baby back ribs, burgers & fries, and pasta on the menu?

If you have a "craving" for everything Lakers, then this is the perfect channel.

Right now IMHO TWC SportsNet programming is no better than Fox Sports West in terms of non live game programming.

Out of the Laker related shows I like Backstage Lakers, Laker Girls, and Timeless Lakers which shows the classic Laker games. It's a whole lot better than having to wait for NBATV or ESPN Classic to show replays of those classic games which happens during the NBA off season.Access sports net and Lake Show honestly have got to improve and what's hurting it is the studio analysts like Dave Miller.Lake show which is a media driven show by twitter & facebook is pretty bad.

As far as the complaints of the channel not having a dedicated half hour show to show highlights & news of other NBA teams and other sports. It's not going to happen since it's a RSN channel and I honestly don't care since I tune to ESPN's sports center, ESPN news channel, or NBATV Gametime for other sports news & highlights.

FSN West in it's early days tried doing this with a show called "The Southern California Sports Report" which covered the Lakers, Kings, Ducks, Dodgers, Angels. The show lasted about 3 years before it eventually got axed from the channel.

I agree though like another member posted earlier that the pre game coverage show is also lacking with it mostly being done from TWC SportsNet in house studio.Compared to how FSN West's live coverage outside & inside Staples Center was in the past.

All the Fox RSNs also had the "National Sports Report" which aired during the same time slot as SportsCenter (or an hour before, I can't remember). But anyway, that show failed miserably. Why bother doing something that another network is already doing?

This is why I like the current format of TWCSN. Granted, it would help to have more original programming, but (like other posters have stated) for the hard core fan, Lakers 24/7 is just fine with me.
