He's on FIVE times today, at 1:30 AM, 8:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM. I haven't seen a pseudo-news show shown that many times in one day on one channel since Keith Olbermann joined up with Current TV, and we all know how well that worked out.

In "fairness" to Russia Today, Friday is the only day with daytime reruns. His show is shown live at 9:00 PM and then rebroadcast at 11:00 on Monday through Thursday.

Obviously, this excessive use of Larry King is part of Russia Today's attempts to increase its ratings to the point where more cable systems will carry it, but his guest list has no connection to Russia Today's niche audience of citizens who want to see reportage of Russian news or of world news reported from a Russian perspective. Here is a list of the guests on Larry King's most recent shows:

The Jonas Brothers : Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas.

WWE Divas (Professional wrestlers Brie and Nikki Bella.)

The Backstreet Boys: Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, A.J. McClean, and Kevin Richardson

Forest Whitaker (actor) and Lee Daniels (producer: The Butler)

Ashton Kutcher and Josh Gad ('Jobs')

    Dane Cook (Comedian)

    Sharon Stone

    Oprah Winfrey

    Hank Azaria

Paula Patton & Bill Paxton ("2 Guns" stars)

Denzel Washington & Mark Wahlberg (also, director of 2 Guns Baltasar Kormákur, making me suspect "payola" since King subsequently interviewed the stars of that same show)

    Lisa Kudrow

One Life to Live: cast members Robin Strasser, Erika Slezak, Corbin Bleu, Tuc Watkins and Melissa Archer.

Nigel Lythgoe and Cat Deeley: 'So You Think You Can Dance' hosts.

Doc Gooden: Former MLB pitcher, author of 'Doc: A Memoir by Dwight Gooden'.

Larry the Cable Guy: Comedian Larry the Cable Guy.

    Patrick Adams and Meghan Markle:('Suits').

    Giuliana & Bill Rancic (who?)

    Jeff Bridges

Julian Lennon & Katherine Schwarzenegger (author and Ahnold's daughter)

    Jane Lynch: Actress .

I would watch the Suits actors, and Jeff Bridges, and flip away from the rest.

LK also has a dumb infomercial that seems to run all the time. He's made his wad and does not need to work, so he takes any gig he can get just for fun. He also has established himself (at least in his own mind) and can take any job even if it tarnishes that phony level of gravitas that he thinks he has.

If you have ever read one of his USA Today columns (mercifully gone now) you would agree with me that he is a certified idiot with no redeeming qualities. The CNN run was a fluke and him just being in the right place at the right time. All he really was there was a live TV phone call receptionist.

That said, he made a very impressive and interesting appearance on Howard Stern a few months ago, but the staff wondered how much of the stories were just BS. This is the guy, remember, that made up tales of being friends with Sandy Koufax, who claims to have never met him. Also a guy who was cuckolded by his 8th wife and a tennis instructor on his own desk, assuming that story is not also BS.
