Thorough would be fixing things and making a release. Adding features and creating new ways of doing old things is how you introduce new problems.

Now you've said two things that don't make sense. Let's go for three.

A new NR is getting very close. I wouldn't be shocked if there was one within the next 2 weeks.

Last I knew That's Exactly What The CE Proccess is.. they add something, we test, they fix, we test, they fix, we test, then it goes national.. Thats why it takes time for a national release..

    P.S. Go home..

That might be how things work at Dish....but not at DirecTV.

First, new features are tested internally by DirecTV testing units.

The CE testing process then goes through several itterations if there are new features, whilel hundreds of testers provide results feedback. Fixes are also introduced and tested by many folks, often through several itterations as well.

All this (multiple rounds of internal and field testing) is done before a National Release is pushed out to the mainstream customer base.

Anytime any provider introduces new features, it can introduce risky results. The probability goes way down when this kind of interactive and filtering testing process, including actual field results from a limited test group, takes place.

To date, DirecTV is the only provider that actually has this level and quantity of testing in place....so I'd feel a whole lot more comfortable about their update firmware releases than other providers.

I agree. Chill out. This forum is to help one another. It always goes into the experts per say making comment that are uncalled for to people who need help.
As my Sig says. We were all new at this once. We all needed advice and had questions to ask.

Maybe there could be a newbie section. Where people can help them and not get hammered. JMO.

Methinks he said that tongue-in-cheek... since we were referring to a DISH guy coming over here to provide advice on the latest DIRECTV software. ;) :sure:

missparker10, since I think you have your answer and this thread seems to have strayed a bit, I think I'll close it.

Team, thank you for helping missparker10 with her questions.

    Cheers,
    Tom
