I'm sure this is just an issue I am experiencing, but none of the local HD channels as well as select national HD channels were not coming in today until about 15 minutes ago. I have nothing that is blocking the line of sight since my dish is on the roof which is very high with zero trees around.

Since I'm in Atlanta, I see that the HD locals are on 103. My signal strength on that is:

    1-8 53 50 51 0 0 0 n/a n/a
    9-16 n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a 95 95
    17-24 60 53 98 95 0 0 95 89
    25-32 n/a for all

Since I have the protection plan, I called D* early this morning and they are sending someone out tomorrow.

I wanted to check to see if other Atlanta folks were having similar issues or what remedies might be out there to assist. This is occurring on all receivers.

    Thanks in advance.

It must be something at your location. I have confirmed that at 2 different sites...all local HD channels in Atlanta come in fine.

If its just locals...you could try a receiver reset on them all..

    Mike,

The Atlanta HD locals have been OK today on the East side. My 103(s) numbers pretty much match yours (some lower, some higher), so I don't think that is the problem. I have not noticed any problems with the national channels.

I did resets on all earlier today and that did not correct the issue. I wonder if the switch in the attic is going bad.

Anyway, I'm keeping the appointment for tomorrow and hopefully they will be able to correct it.

Sounds then like an LNB issue.... let us know what the service call today reveals.

The channels came back prior to the installer arriving here. He went into the attic and noticed the multi-switch was warm. Our attic is relatively cool since we have an attic fan. He then looked outside at my dish and said, "You have one of those old dishes". I have an HD dish that was installed in '07 so I couldn't tell you what model it is since it is located very high on my roof. He then said that he was going to change the dish, the lnb's on the dish and replace the multi-switch. Once it was complete, he did a signal check and said that I was receiving some of the highest signals that he had ever seen for HD.

Hopefully this will resolve this issue just in time for the full blitz of college football tomorrow.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.

Super news - figured the LNB was in play, and perhaps the multiswitch.

Most important...you are back in business watching your HD!!! :)
