I received a PM from someone recently that I unfortunately deleted. I had inquired about the launching of local channels in the 92201 area code and this individual (who works for DTV) told me Nov. 15.... I was hoping to confirm/verify that information if possible, thanks.

Newshawk, I believe that's the Palm Springs, CA DMA...

BTW, whoever sent the OP the PM regarding the Palm Springs LIL rollout, I would appreciate any information you can give me regarding SD-LIL rollout information for Albany, GA (DMA #147), Columbus, GA (DMA #125) and HD-LIL for Tallahassee, FL/Thomasville, GA (DMA #108). Thanks! :)

No plans yet for Albany, GA or Columbus, GA. Probably have to wait until D11 gets launched and activated. Thomasville, GA/Tallahassee, FL get their locals from sat 119.

I would not switch... until they are actually live.

Any "dates" that anyone has provided (including CSRs), are always subject to change.

The Palm Springs, CA locals are SD, not HD. Even though they are coming off 103b and you need an H20/21 or HR20/21 they are SD only. This was stated in the press release the OP is talking about and that I cannot find either.

I have been told otherwise... though they could have been delayed until after D11 gets activated.

Thomasville, GA/Tallahassee, FL gets their SD-LILs from 119... I was asking about their HD-LIL as DirecTV installed their HD receiving equipment there last month (this has been verified).

Is Directv10 still having spot beam problems? Will the next round of HD LIL's have to wait until Directv11 is ready?

    DMA #60

    What about Springfield, MO?

My big problem is our local ABC Channel doesn't broadcast in HD.. They broadcast a low-power digital feed, but it's SD..

Anyone think I could get a waiver because of that and get a national HD feed?

I haven't heard any reliable information in a while. D* keeps giving me the same canned response when I contact them which isn't very informative and no dates at all. Considering it was supposed to be turned on late 2006 I wish there was some more information available. I also wonder if the spot beam problems with D10 have delayed any LiL HD offerings. HEY DirecTV10 when you going to get yourself fixed?
