... at two restaurants I visited today. And not only is their folded cross-section smaller, they also employ the neat trick of only doubling about 2/3s of the width of the napkin, so they might be using closer to half the total amount of paper. The counter napkin dispensers at each these McDonald's was McDonald's red in color, so this isn't the case of privately owned restaurants coming up with it on their own.

These McDonald's, like lots of restaurants, had already been using single ply toilet paper for years. I am very skeptical about any savings garnered by using single ply toilet paper because when I see it in use, I just pull off twice as much and fold it one more time.

Don't know if I could ever "sit down" in a McDonald's to have to worry about using their TP. :eek2:

I don't know about the napkins, but the tightness of the straw wrappers is getting out of hand. You end up peeling it off in little bits because the straw won't slide out.

I think I've seen posts that he uses their wifi. One of those times could just be for coffee.

I haven't done mcdonalds in 8 years. as a whole I read they did 34 billion in sales. so for them to cut back and save on the simple needs like napkins, I'm glad I don't go there.

Unlike wiping your butt, a napkin is hardly used. The only exception is when you eat BBQ stuff.

Doesn't say they've done away with them, only downsized. Probably a good move, as most people take handfuls of them, and don't use them all. Present company excepted!
