I was given 199.99 price but when I called retention they gave me a 50.00 credit.
Just wondering if anyone has gotten better.
For new people just call all they can say is they can not give you the rate.

Glad to hear they are giving credits. I have had little luck calling early (Feb.-early March) so I will wait till mid-March to call but I will be checking back to see what others get!

I've been with D* for about 10 yrs. I've subscribed to the MLB EI package for at least the last five years. Talked to a retention specialist today and told them I was considering cancelling my MLB package because for financial reason. She said let me see if I can help you out. The retention specialist is sending me a $200 pre paid gift card from D*. She said I can use it for whatever I want. I'm gonna use it to pay off my MLB EI in one shot. That was pretty amazing. Guess it was my lucky day. You have to call these people once in awhile and ask them what they can do for you. They don't want to see you go.

I am happy for you. If people would only call they can get a better deal.

Just made the call...6 $20 monthly credits off my total bill, same as last year.
Definitely happy with that, love DTV!

I received a $20 credit for 12 months - had to agree to not terminate service in the 12 months, however, I have been with D* since 1997 - not going anywhere!

That was what I was given last year.
For people posting would you post if you just talked to costumer service or retention.
    Also what programming you have.
I have premium with fox soccer, CI, EI and basic Spanish package.
I got my deal from retention.

I called and asked about "deals" on MLB and was offered $20 off per month. This was from customer service. After I looked at the Blackout Map I decided it wasn't really worth it for me. I don't really follow any "far away" teams and I'm in home territory for Twins, Cubs, White Sox, Royals, Brewers, and Cardinals. Kind of narrows down the games I would be interested in that I already can see anyway.

I'd love if MLB did what the NBA does now and offers a broadband version with it's TV packages. I haven't seen whether or not they're going to do that this year so I'm holding off until then.

Yeah, the idea of bundling the two was brought up in a DTV survey.
But pricing for both services is set for this year and orders being taken.

The issue with this is it is always next year.
Looks like 20 bucks a month is going to be the norm for this year.

I was getting ready to call DTV to attempt a deal on EI but found out that apparently MLB.tv is going to have the audio overlay (radio broadcasts) for the Roku this year. This is a such a huge plus, it has sealed the deal for me.

I will lose the MLB channel (I am only the family plan) w/o EI but saving $85 will make it worth it. I am skeptical they would be willing to give credits to me anyways since I have had quite a bit in the last 18months. The PQ isn't as good as EI, but judging by last year's free game of the day on MLB.tv it is still fully acceptable.

I will call and cancel EI just before the season starts so I can enjoy MLB channel free for the next month.

I think I am going to jump in on EI this year. I used MLB.TV the last two years and it wasnt bad but it was also annoying that I did not have an option at all TV's in the house for the games. When company came over the TV they usually watched did not have the ability to stream the games. Year I could of changed that but the quality changed alot and I didnt enjoy seeing my household using 350 GB of data a month.

Being able to record any game I want or watch any game I want at any TV in the house is the option I want. EI is going to be great for me this year. I will pay more for EI and also have to add the sports pack for the Cards and Royals games but in the end I think I will be really happy.

Since EI is a PPV package don't you only have a certain number of days to cancel before you are unable? I had to deal with that with Charter but that was Charter. DirecTV may be different. Just throwing that out there.
