Just saw Directv is taking orders for MLB Extra innings.

215.94 x 1 payment or

35.99 x 6

I tried to get a discount, but because I'm still getting the new deals and rebates plus I got NFL free last season and 50 of NHL CI, and 50 off NBA LP,

I wasn't able to get a lower amount.

I wasn't complaining.

So I, just chose the 35.99 x6 option, and paid it with Feb bill, so 1 down 5 to go.

Is there any word on whether or not there are new OTA affiliates being added to MLB EI?

We know the FOX situation will likely never be rectified, but will KCAL or KNTV feeds ever be added? KCAL is nice because it has Vin Scully, but there are actually games between LAD and SFG that aren't televised because it's merely on these two stations. (EI would never allow that to happen with NYY and BOS, but this is a big rivalry game too.)

I've been a Premier sub with FS+ for 5 years.

Last August, I called to say I could not afford ST, and D* gave it for free.

In early October, I called about cancelling CI and they charged me full price ( $172 ), but gave me a $240 credit ( $20 for 12 months ) off my Premier monthly fee. So I got CI and a $68 credit.

I called today and told them I might have to cancel EI and he offered me a $10 monthly discount for 6 months, reducing EI to $156.

So in effect, I've had ST, CI, and EI for a grand total of $88 for the 3, a saving of $638 over their retail price.

And yet, there are people who still come here and complain about people who call asking for discounts!

By the way, I noticed there are no EI channels yet in the on screen guide, even though Seattle and Oakland open the 2012 regular season in about 36 hours in Japan.

Root NW are televising Wednesday and Thursday morning back to Seattle, so they should be available.

I called for an EI discount and they gave me nothing. Good for the ones that get it but I don't like the haphazard way they do it. You basically play CR roulette to find one that will give a discount. I don't like that. I don't really like feeling as though I have to beg for it. I wish they would have some sort of graduated discount system for the ones that subscribe every year. That would be much more fair and equitable. For the record my account is paid up to date and have never been late. I am getting a discount for having the premier package. But that wasn't an issue last year when I got an EI discount. In fact I had more credits/discounts last year when they gave me $60 off the price. I'll probably get EI after the free preview but not until then. It will at least be off my bill for two months.

I've been an Extra Innings subscriber since 1997 and called today...no offers of a discounted rate or any other service credit. I'm OK with it though. I've pared back my subscriptions over the years and, perhaps, I'm no longer worthy of incentives due to my no longer paying this outfit $200+ per month.

I will subscribe to MLB.TV and watch on Apple TV. I know the picture quality does not match up to EI but I watch the Yanks on my "home" RSN most of the time and am ok with watching other games on my laptop or iPad if the stream is poor.

I canceled the NHL package this past season and subbed to the Gamecenter package. For the most part, the stream was watchable (a bit choppy) but it was a bit cheaper and I could watch on my TV, phone, iPad and PC all for one price.

With March Madness being a service available to all at no extra cost, I'm now down to Sunday Ticket as my lone sports subscription. As streaming improves, DirecTV will need to be more aggressive to keep their customers subscribing to sports packages.

ROOT Sports has the rights to these games. Not sure they'll be on MLB Extra Innings because I don't think that officially starts until April 5. Looks like MLB Network will show the tape delay of the games tomorrow and Thursday at 9am eastern both days.

because I'm thinking that they blacked it out by mistake. Usually when MLB.tv is showing a game, MLB Extra Innings will show the same game... BTW, I'm sure if these were East Coast Teams playing, we wouldn't be having these problems right now

It's on MLB Network at 9am eastern. I can wait.
Yeah, that's if they lift the current blackout on MLB Network. Right Now, I'm blacked out from seeing the Braves/Mets replay (a game I watched Live on SNY 17 hours ago)

Mr. Selig, These stupid rules Need To Go Away!!!

Hi Hallrk.

I should have noted...

Whenever you call, at the voice prompts, always say "cancel service" twice.

You bypass the normal CSR's and go right to the "retention" reps. They have a lot more discretionary discount authority.
I did say cancel MLB Extra Innings when I called. That's what I did last year and it worked. I'm not going to lie to them and threaten to cancel the entire service. It would be my luck they would say OK your cutoff. I really don't won't that.

Wow, after $215 we get blacked out of the Opener, Not Good, Not Good at all
This is a MLB issue and has nothing to do with Direct TV. MLB Extra Innings doesn't start until April 5, the same day the free preview starts. So yeah, we paid $215 for the MLB Extra Innings package season but the MLB Extra Innings package season doesn't start until next week so we haven't paid for something that we aren't getting yet.
