Ok, ESPN show tonights game (in HD). My local channel 12 show the game in the guide, but not in HD (or at least no HD logo). Channel 12 is the local CBS here in Cincinnati.

Is this going to be ala MLB where ESPN is blacked out of HD and people are stuck with SD?

I'll be at the game, but I plan to record it.

WKRC web site does not indicated as HD, as they do CSI after the game.

My question is, will the game be on ESPN or blacked out like Reds games?

I guess I'll record both channels.

too bad remote booking isn't working yet...

If I remember correctly last year, when the Cowboys played on Monday night they provided the HD feed to a local station.

I know here in Baltimore every game the Ravens had in prime time last year the game was not blacked out on ESPN or NBC.

I don't think so. It was on a local only if I remember correctly. I could be totally wrong though. Maybe try calling your local station.

Its cool as long as they don't pull a MLB thing. Whenever the Reds were on ESPN it was blacked out and we were stuck with SD.

No, the game on ESPN will not be blacked out. The only reason these games are on OTA is that in the local home markets the ESPN feed is provided to a local OTA station so that those without cable can still watch the game. This is per NFL rules.

The local broadcast channel is CBS, ESPN shoots the game, so at what point is the ESPN 720p feed converted to the local CBS 1080i signal.

The local CBS station will take the feed and upconvert as needed.

As long as it's on ESPN, I'll definitely be recording/watching that one as CBS's HD can be sketchy here.

This happens in boston with ESPN when a prime time PATS game is broadcast.
WCVB (ABC5) will carry the game on both the SD and their HD stations. They don't up convert as they BOTH(ESPN & WCVB-DT) broadcast in 720P.
This year may get interesting if their subchannel 5-2 (HD doppler Radar)is broadcasting.I wonder how much bandwith is going to be robbed.

It will be on both 12 and ESPN and the last time {Cinn. vs. Falcons-ESPN} pre-season game the picture looked a HELL of a lot better on ESPN.

Why does it matter if it's in HD on the local station? It will be in HD on ESPN. I guess if you don't get ESPN...
