You're wrong about Vandy, they're turning a corner and will be better. They had their first ranked recruiting class this year. Watch...

Also, the bottom 4 of the SEC is still better than the jokers playing the Pac12 teams like Northern Arizona or SJSU.

Well, there is ONE reason it won't go away. :D
(Although, they could make it part-time of course).

SJSU is a team on the rise, you're a bit off with your quote there. I understand you're on the East Coast and don't hear a lot about them. The school is pouring a ton of money into their athletic program and in the process of building the "Bill Walsh Sports" complex that will include an entirely new facility for their football team and other sports. They finally have a commitement from area grads and businesses to grow the sports programs. They just brought on a new AD (former one left for Memphis) and will be moving to the Mountain West Conf.

I am not a grad of the school nor do I root for them, just know some of the facts about the program.

These comments about the Pac 12 and West Coast schools in general show what a horrible TV deal the Pac 12 had in the past. Nobody really saw any of their games outside of USC. People now are starting to see "Wow Andrew Luck is really a good QB." Those that watched the Pac 12 over the last 3 years could tell you, he has been this good the last 3 years. Finally with the new ESPN/FOX deal and the Pac 12 channels the Pac games will be seen by a larger audience.

Nice job pulling this thread back to the TV deal! I had begun to think this was your standard run of the mill sports rant, not D*

this is just killing me. I love my D*, have for years. as an Oregon fan in the L.A. area, its tough not knowing what games I will be able to see (or not see). the second two games are now listed as being on the P12N, so already I am anticipating missing them. sadly, my only other options are charter cable and Uverse, and neither has made an agreement either. in previous years there were issues with a game or two a season, and I was excited about the P12N eliminating that.

one bit of news/rumor, is that Oregon's last four games will be on FOX, along with the Pac 12 championship game.

does it seem odd that the championship game would be on something other than the P12N?

    Gotta have faith.

Just like I know we will have the Pac-12 Network by next Thursday for the kickoff of the season.

Directv might actually help Comcast outer area customers. I truly believe that once dtv offers this nationwide it will force Comcast to address this

The Championship game was part of the deal when FOX and ESPN signed on, I think it alternates between the 2 networks year to year.

Yes and no... I don't for a moment believe that Comcast would offer all 7 networks in HD on their cable systems. They may add the national network.

DirecTV has a good opportunity to score though. Adding these 7 channels in HD (or 6, but I think it probably will be 7) will give them an edge over all providers in all regions, as they will then be the only ones (with the exception of TWC Hawaii) to offer all networks.

DirecTV with no Pac 12 network, is like blue jeans on tush with no panties on.

DirecTV is choosing to go commando right now, and it shows.

Besides, who would want their championship game on a smaller channel rather than a national channel available everywhere?
