That is just a lot more speculation from someone who knows no more about what is really going on than the members of this board do. There were a few interesting statements - some with which I agree, and others with which I do not agree.

Regarding having all seven channels in the Sports Pack:
Unless the PAC 12 is offering all seven channels at a deep discount, I agree that there is not enough interest outside of the PAC 12 territory to justify this.

Regarding how to break the stalemate:
I strongly disagree. I think it is the PAC 12 that needs to be pursuaded to blink. Make the package affordable for DirecTV, and DirecTV will carry it.

The solution that I think is most reasonable was not even mentioned in the article. Put the National PAC 12 channel in the Sports Pack and have alternate feeds for live events that are on the other six channels. There is no need to have more than three conference games played simultaneously, and many of the non-conference games are already being televised through the opponent's television contract.

There is a lot of speculation and rumors going around.... but it does become a lot more gloomy. DirecTV stopped responding to PAC12 tweets, but they are probably overwhelmed by them.

With 48 hours to go to football, and channels usually wanting at least a day or so of testing, it is pretty much CERTAIN that Thursday's football game is NOT going to be on DirecTV.... Friday and Saturday.... who knows, it may still happen.

All in all there are 5 football games on the PAC12 networks not on national networks of the 12 games being played.

Bottom line: If you don't have a cable install by tomorrow.... you will most likely not see football Thursday.

Yeah, that is not accurate. On the Pac-12's website, it specifically says all networks are offered in HD. It's up to the providers to choose SD or HD.

To be precise, you won't watch college football games on Thursday on Pac-12 Network. However, there will be plenty of college football available Thursday night elsewhere:

Very true, out of the 12 PAC12 games spread over this weekend, only FIVE are on PAC12 networks. So you will get plenty of football to watch for sure with the other 7.

But it does suck if you are a fan of one of those 5 teams of course. :D

This is the PAC12 schedule, and where they will air:

    http://pac-12.com/Sports/Football/Schedule.aspx

Out of those 5 games, 4 are on the National network, and only 1 Football game is on the PAC12 Oregon network, not on the National network. In the weekend after however (7-8 sept) there are FIVE games not on national network, they are aired on the Washington, Mountain, Bay Area (2 games), and Arizona networks respectively.

Hopefully things get wokred out, the problem is for those fans of certain teams...Stanford, Cal, Utah etc they won't be able to see their teams play. While maybe not the best games as we all know we like to see "our favorite" teams play. Hopefully something works out, I have already set up my backup plan via Comcast so I can watch online/via Slingbox if needed.

It's in everyone's best interest to get this done...and it will be...just possibly not in time to see San Jose State upset Stanford. :)

Never know what will be the better game. BTN scored a coup with Appy St beating Michigan out of the gate while last years Bama/LSU games were snores.

I want to see the deal get done, too - just not on terms that are going to raise the price of the Sports Pack.

Chances are that, with or without PAC12, that the price of Sports Pack will be increased anyways. All the channels within the package are just as subject to re-carriage negotiations as channels in the Choice packages. With some RSN's still being launched, even though major league games are blacked out... there has been enough change over the last 2 years (and there will be some more change).... that it is VERY likely that the Sports Pack will be increased next year. If not next year, then probably in 2014.

And I am thinking that if PAC12 doesn't get carried. If it does, chances are more likely that the Sports Pack will increase.

So I'm a Comcast Internet subscriber, to add digital starter to my package is $70 a month. I am not quite ready to leave DirecTV over a 5:15pm kick off football game against a winless FCS team from last year. Next 2 Utah games are on ESPN/ESPN2. Only meaningful game for Utah fans between now and October 13 on P12N is the potential 9/22 game at ASU (if not picked up by another network)... I am sure Directv will carry P12N by October.

I'm not willing to spend $70 for one game against a winless FCS team, I'll just get a couple of the standing room only tix for $60 and go to the game.

One thing you should note though re: Comcast: It is pro-rated. In other words, if you subscribe tomorrow, and (after DirecTV adds PAC12 after the weekend) you decide you didn't like it and bring your receiver back to Comcast, you will be billed for the period you actually used it, not for the whole month. And a week of cable is significantly cheaper that way.

The question becomes then: Is the 5 games only available on PAC12 Network worth $15. (Estimated: Activation Wednesday, Cancellation Monday = 5 days).

Also, if it then still doesn't launch on Monday you can stick it out another week.... if it still doesn't launch after that, all you have to do is Cancel DIRECTV and get a few more tuners for the other TV's from Comcast.

It all depends on how important PAC12 is for you. I want the channels, but as I don't watch football or basketball..... I can really live without them. I can access the field hockey games using a family member's TWC account online. :D

Two of the most boring, vanilla, unimaginative games I've ever seen. And, not because of great defense, but because neither team wanted to take any chance on offense. Hell, LSU didn't even seem to have an offensive game plan in the title game.

Actually, I didn't see more than half of the title game as it was such awful football I just couldn't stand it and turned it off.
