You folks will probably think I've been drinking, but my 942 appears to have recorded the wrong show.

Yesterday I set up two timers to record WCAU-DT, the NBC affiliate that I get OTA,to record the Preakness. From looking at the DVR events page, you'd think it worked perfectly. It shows one event that says "Horse Racing 5/21 4:59pm 010-01 WCAU" and another that says "Horse Racing 5/21 6:00pm 010-01 WCAU" The problem occurs when you try to play back either of those events. When you start playback of the first show, you immediately see that it is MTV, not NBC. Pressing the "Info" button shows "Pimp My Ride 4:30pm-5:00pm 160 MTV, Sat 5/21". Similarly, for the second Preakness recording, I got MTV and "Pimp My Ride 6:00pm-6:30pm 160 MTV, Sat 5/21". I did have timers set up to record MTV on TV1 earlier in the day, and these worked as expected.

Any idea what happened? Or has anyone seen anything like this?

Not sure which event had priority, but there wasn't a conflict. The Preakness is on the OTA tuner, MTV is on satellite. This is definitely a bug, because when you look at the DVR events page (where is shows the recordings on the hard drive), it says that the recorded events are the Preakness, but when you play them back they are MTV.

Had a similar problem the other day. I had a timer set for WB channel 39 for Life with Fran. It said that was the show in the dvr events and it said it was 30 minutes long complete with information about the show. When I went to access the show it wasn't that show but the "Audrey Rose" movie on Showtime channel 323 and it recorded the entire movie , not just 30 minutes of it. Weird.

I think sometimes the priority of the timers gets messed up. I have since eliminated that timer and recreated it. Hopefully it will record properly next week. By the way I did enjoy the movie though; an unexpected pleasure.

Sorry everyone. Please ignore this. I wasn't thinking when I posted this. I have this problem with my 625 not my 942.

I also have a similar problem. My 625 thinks that it is recording the Daily Show but it records Mad TV. The DVR recording even says Mad TV in the title but when you look at the schedule it thought it was the Daily Show. It only records the 1st 30 minutes of Mad TV (the length of the Daily Show) and it only records the Sunday a.m. showing. Meaning it doesn't get confused by the dozen other showings during the week.

Try forcing the automatic update 3 times in a row. Go to Menu 8-5 and set the update time to a couple of minutes in the future. Let it do its thing (take about 3 or 4 minutes). once you get the "Press Select" icon, repeat the process 2 more times. I'm not sure if this will fix these problems, but my 942 was trying to record everything twice. Some how this process resets all the timer files and things start working again. I also delete all my timers before doing this process so everything was back to empty when I was done.

Please update this thread with the results.

It would also be helpful to know what software version you are running. I haven't had any issues like these since L225 came down. Maybe I'm lucky?
