    Never.

In fact, after reading the thread title, I couldn't even remember what it was.

Never, and I don't like its place of dominance, either.

There's a loaded question. You stepped in it now, son!! ;) :D

The DVRs that I use the most are (obviously) more accurate than the ones I rarely use, and they are often decent at suggestions... not great, but fairly decent. For the most part, it's rarely NEW programming, but rather programming I already watch... with the "What's On..." section usually full of programs I have set to record that day/night, or in some cases, programs that do not really come on that day/night, but rather programs that I have recordings of on my DVR.

However, it's annoying to me at times. For one reason, one of my DVRs in my bedroom thinks I like infomercials... I'm assuming I must have left the DVR off stand-by for a while on a channel after programming stopped... and infomercials started :)confused:)... only thing I can figure out. Annoying, and something that SHOULD work itself out if I used it more often...

Not as big of an issue, but I HATE it when two of my local channels offered in SD only have an HD tag next to them. It's annoying enough in the guide, but it's even more noticeable on the "My DIRECTV" screen. My local CW only has this issue occasionally (and makes me want to cry whenever it does since I'd LOVE to have CW programming in HD), but the HD tags on my local INDEPENDENT station is multiple times a day... even though it is SD only, and carried on DirecTV in SD only. Though this is a local station/Tribune issue, it would be great if DirecTV told Tribune, hey, we only carry these stations in SD.

MY MAIN ISSUE though is the sorry state of CIG. I had HBO/MAX for a couple of months last year, and we've had several premium freeview weekends, which has resulted in me getting multiple instances of programs on HBO and Cinemax (at this moment, one of my DVRs has listings for TWO Cinemax films) due to the fact that CIG has not been fixed for several channels after DirecTV added them last year. Add in the fact that after tuning to any type of sporting event, I get recommendations for programs on channels from the sports package... which I do not subscribe to, but pretty much every channel is listed as a channel I get.

As I stated in an earlier thread on this subject, the only time I look at MY DIRECTV is when someone asks a question like this. It does seem to be getting a bit more accurate. Before my problem was that it recommended shows that I would never watch. Now, after looking at it for a day, it recommends quite a few shows that I already have an SL for (???). This seems like it would be a pretty basic restriction (don't recommend shows that are already subscribed). The other shows recommended don't seem to be "on point" much more than before but this was a very limited scan of what was being recommended. Perhaps I just have rather eclectic tastes:lol:.

    FWIW.

Look at it a couple times a week, but it seems to put in mostly sports and sports talk shows, which I am reasonably up on, and it is also quite influenced by my son's penchant for European football. So, useless right now.

Never Use It as I didn't like Suggestions by TiVo when they had it.

I wish Directv wouldn't take away things like Trick Play in PIG or The Yellow Button for the "ToDoList" and give us useless stuff that Slows Down the CPU. It is already MAXED OUT so give us back those things we really want and quit giving us Useless Features.

I guess I'm the weirdo of the family. I pull it up all the time just because I'm interested in seeing how it changes as it "learns" more about my viewing habits. I have to say that after nearly a month it has gotten pretty good, but I have never watched a show because of it. I am more interested in watching it work than using it.

I Never used TiVo's Suggestions as I know what I want to Record and can set up Series Links for Actors or Musicians or whatever.

Also, I like to just peruse the Guide to see what is coming up.

USELESS to me especially when we are getting rid of things we have had and want because of Efficiency and then they give us something we don't want to further Bog Down the CPU.

    AMAZING!!!

Make the DVR More Efficient and Not Less Efficient!!!

It must be all driven by the Marketing Department.

Never use it, and it gets in the way.

    I hit MENU to:

    1) get to 2nd level "Manage Recordings" (ToDo, Series Manager, History)

    2) get to 2nd level "Settings"

Each and every day, sometimes several times per day ...

Hit MENU, ignore My DirecTV, scroll down to Recordings or Setting & Help, select one of them, and then finally get to Manage Recordings or Settings.

    Over and over and over.

Man, I would love Manage Recordings and Settings on the first level at the top.

It's not that these items are that important but I just like to play with the remote while watching TV and like to check-in as to what's in the to-do list for the next day, and with new firmware levels check/play with settings.

I also use Search once in a great while.

But My DirecTV, can't say I ever clicked on a show, and can't say I ever use anything other then Manage Recordings and Settings.

If you could select a show and it pulled up a list of shows that were similiar genre or had the primary actors in it would you use it more?

Looked at it once or twice just to see what it was suggesting. Didn't bother with any of the suggestions. If I was the sole user on the box, maybe the suggestions would be more appealing?

    _______ I wouldn't miss it.

Would it work better than "You Might Like?" When using "You Might Like" on Gold Rush the matches include The real housewives of Orange County , The real housewives of Beverly Hills, and Jerseylicious. They're all reality shows, but seriously...

The one piece of logic they can definitely include is to stop recommending shows that are already in the series manager. Don't see the point in that.

Never use it. It's just something in the way that I need to move off of after pressing menu. Probably one of the worst things about the new UI.

4 suggestions isn't enough to bother with. I like seeing box covers on my series links or when hitting "Info" on a show, but presenting them this way is useless. Right now it's suggesting "The Usual Suspects" - I can barely read the blob of text to know what it is. Instead, I'd rather see a large list of suggestions, probably similar to how search works. Maybe placed under the Search menu.

I'm most frequently going to the playlist, managing recordings, searching for programs, or going into settings. Those things should be easier to access. I know that I can hit "List" to pull up the Playlist, I've observed that others who use it go through the menu. The new UI has added steps to the process, and they don't like that.
