The noses are different. And the way they are doing the Nationwide cars makes them look pretty close to the real car. I like what they've done with the Challenger Nationwide car.

Well, I see NASCAR has put the fix in to ensure JJ gets his fifth championship. He finished eighth but they have given him seventh as of this writing and made sure Harvick finished second instead of first.

I am not sure why NASCAR thinks its best for the sport to have the same champion over and over, but I guess they are trying to make history.

Too bad the late Jim Hunter has to see this from above. God Bless Jim.

Yeah they should just not follow the rules so he doesnt win....that makes sence. Know the rulebook on scoring b4 you make comments like that. Its pretty clear and if you even watched espn after you would know how its done. Im up for any proof they got it wrong though. Im no 48 fan either btw.

He was posted him 8th at the finish. Take a look at your DVR recording. They changed it about ten minutes later.

Yeah and harvick was posted as 1st too. For your personal knowledge they take the time to go back and look at the scoring loop when the caution waived and actually at that very moment they have a system in place that marks all the video/camera shots around the track so they can go back and look at the video tape and see who was in front of who exactly when the caution was issued.
They explained this on espn after the race concluded and showed how they ruled the #33 winning the race over Harvick.
This is why all the standings at the end of the race are shown as "unofficial" as nascar goes back and reviews in situations like this.

Ditto here. the new nationwide cars look amazing in person. Saw them in Charlotte this month for the race and they look so much better!

Keep reading of more changes coming in 2012-13 to the Cup car and am excited to see them take the steps they are taking now. First they took on Safety, now they are going after appealing the manufactures. A Camero would be great! Id say a Vette would be better but thats unlikely to make it b/c of its price range I guess, on top of the styling issues theyd run into.

Very interested to see how Fuel Injection plays into the series coming up in the near future.

As for hotpass. I really would love to have the main channel back we had when we paid for it where we could select just drivers audio ontop of the national feed. They could toss adds all over the place but It'd be worth it to have that audio to me. Just hate paying for trackpass, which is why I dont. I try to use my HTCEvo, but the driver audio seems to stop and you have to reconnect to pick it back up over long connections.

I think you are way off base here. NASCAR did exactly what they always do when this situation arises which is follow the rules. They carefully reviewed the footage and scored the cars where they were at the time of the caution.

Conspiracy theories are boring and require little thought.

Yup. I had my Halloween beer googles on. ;) I know the results aren't fixed. Hamlin went from 7th to 9th in a matter of minutes which upset me. I realize they use the last scoring loop when the caution flies.

Plus they use video on the final lap. Espn showed Hamlin's incar camera shot at the yellow and you could see from that that JJ was in front on the bottom, Gordon next up top and Hamlin 3rd in line in the middle - so JJ, JG, DH at 7, 8, 9 was correct.

I know if does seem it's what Harvick said, Johnson must have a lucky horseshoe stuck up his @$&! :nono2:

When ESPN was showing the replays and Hamlin was officially 7 and JJ 8 I knew it would be switched based on when the caution was thrown and scoring loop. JJ and Gordon passed Hamlin before the turn. :(

So Jeff Gordon (NASCAR's 2nd most popular driver according to fan polls and merch sales) has had an in-car camera for 2 of the past 3 races but has not had a Hotpass channel. The frickin' idiots running Hotpass never cease to amaze when it comes to their stupidity in choosing drivers.

Yes lets complain about this age old issue when no one here knows who has the decision to air who's channel wether it be directv or the sponsors, b/c we all know sponsors pay the bill and i doubt directv would give them the air time for free.

but I hear ya he should be on there more. I like there radio com. for the most part.

If anyone cares, lineup for Phoenix:

    795 - Hamlin
    796 - Kyle Busch
    797 - Harvick
    798 - Johnson

Anyone remember the day when racing was "run what ya brung"? Not Brian Frances "IROC" cars. Maybe if they pull thru with the nose/tail changes, Nationwide cup driver limits, seperate points for chase drivers... it will improve next year.

But I still wish that stupid CHASE goes away.

Ill hold my breath. I dropped packages a month ago, and thought I would really miss the truck races on Speed, but I havent.

And I am with you, other than mandatory safety equipment in the cockpit, they should be required to run STOCK or Modified STOCK stuff. Be nice if a Dodge had at least one DODGE part on it. I would really like to see a race with Chargers, Vettes, Cobra Stangs, and some REAL cars.

I think it is better with the chase. This year it looks like it is going down to Homestead. I remember some years without the chase, we knew who the points winner was with several races left on the schedule.

Well, maybe the should change the points system somehow, so the points leaders dont just hang in the back of the pack for the whole race, then ZOOM to the front at the end. Either that, or make a race consist of 5 100 mile mini-races rather than one boring 500 mile race. They need to do something. Watch the stands. They are NOT even close to being full. Even with the chase being close this year, lots of empty seats.

But with our current economy, empty seats are seen in almost every sport, and from teams that always had sold out games. i watch hockey and see a lot of empty seats. Even noticed it in some football games this year.

I can't speak for chassis parts but the Dodges run with Dodge motors and transmissions. I think everyone runs with a Ford 9" rear end though regardless of manufacturer.
