It's not all about the economy. Sure, the economy has a lot to do with it but not 100%. I know some lifelong NASCAR fans that gave up their season tickets at several tracks just because it's Jimmie winning the cup every year.

I agree that people are sick of JJ but not to the extent to quit going to races. I think it has more to do with the lack hillbillies and rednecks driving in NASCAR these days. Jr is that last redneck in Cup and he hasn't contended for several years. These clean cut corporate boys just don't cut it with Billy Bob. Plus it got too expensive to go to races. The prices have come down at but people don't care. Personally I love the new pricing packages being offered. I get great seats and don't have to pay to take my 7 year old.

People would and will still find things to complain about. And they haven't run true stock cars since the 30's and 40's.

I disagree and could provide you with at least 3 couples who used to go to all the races east of the Mississippi every year for decades that quit once JJ won #4 and I know they aren't the only ones.

WOW! Can you be more offensive???

IF true, it's pretty weak that they let Jimmie change their entire lifestyle like that.

    Seriously?:lol::lol::lol:

Yes, your comment was way off base and offensive. It was most definitely discriminatory and not a laughing matter.

If it weren't for those Southern Gentlemen you wouldn't have NASCAR.

Only the engines are brand specific. Transmissions, gears, and all else are generic (excepting seats, gauges and such). Nascar controls what tranny/rear gears you run (there are no manufact. trans/rear ends), and all other body/part specs fit ONE template. (IROC).

I have no problem with a common "greenhouse" area as that is for driver safety but the sheetmetal that is hung on the front and rear should match the maker and not just be decals! Also, it is time to downsize the engines into the 200cid range as they did when they went from the 400cid+ big blocks to the small block 300s.

After all, this is STOCK CAR racing. Should the cars not at least LOOK and be built like stock cars?! (splitters, wings, common tails/noses, WTF)

Look, it was that if you get your butt handled to you in a race, then you make sure you don't let that happen again in the next race. Now Brian France takes care of that for you with rulez!!! Now start-n-parks can win if they run the whole race!!!

Now we have daredeveil Travis Pastrana coming to Nascar and Mikey Waltrip. Whoopee!!! Don't we already have Spanky Spangler?!

MWR and Pastrana to boost Nascar - how well did MWR work out with young blood and Trever Bayne?! Daredevils to Nascar...

WWE here we come - - and here I go!!!

Pastrana isn't a daredevil...That's pretty low. He's one of, if not the best, Rally Car drivers in America. In motocross/supercross, he won the 2000 A.M.A. 125cc National championship and the 2001 125cc East Coast Supercross Championship.

Valid point, but he also does a daredevil act as well and X-Games stuff. Not sure how that will work with his contract though because most drivers aren't even allowed to drive an ATV on an off weekend let alone do jumps and flips on a motorcross bike.

Yeah, he does do some insane stuff. I was just trying to show goober that TP does have some legit racing cred.

So now hillbillies and rednecks qualify as a group that needs protection from discriminatory comments? Next thing you know I won't be able make fun of the toothless mullet headed drunken inbreds I saw at Bristol several years ago.:lol::lol:

Wow, I thought you were low class before for being a Jeffie fan but you've now sunk to an all new low. It's people like you who keep things like racism alive too. Sad, very sad...

TP has a pretty big global following. Hopefully he can get lots of seat time in some other stock car series prior to his first NW start.

You don't need to show me squat! You need to show the media that!!! I am aware of TP.

THEY (media, Waltrip, Nascar) are the ones pushing his jumps off a pier and skydiving without a parachute!!! He'll bring EXCITEMENT to Nascar!? Media Hype?

Read between the lines, my man - this is what Nascar has become. A show - not racing. Don't shooty the messenger, I just repeat what they push! :nono2:

    EDIT -- -

    Read the hype here:

Stock car racer or showman? I say, and they say, and HE says, SHOWMAN! Welcome to the Nascar (WWE) show!!! RIP stock car racing.

Well, they need something to bring in fans. The "sport" is pretty bad and slowly dying. Here's a great article showing what fans think is wrong...http://savannahnow.com/sports/2010-11-12/fans-offer-clues-declining-nascar-ratings

If having 3 consistent start times is confusing then I don't think that speaks well for the fans that are confused.
