Being an "great Ambassador for the sport" isn't based on how well you've run or how much you win. Being an "great Ambassador for the sport" means that you represent the sport in a good light. Joey Logano is a "great Ambassador for the sport" but he has only won one race. Kyle is NOT a great, or even good, Ambassador for the sport.

Yea, I think Logano is a great Ambassador. It's a shame he was forced into having to walk up to Harvick's car and act like Kyle, just to get a little respect on the track. Even the commentators said if he didnt get up in peoples face, they wouldnt respect him. I dont see Mark Martin getting in peoples face, and he is one of the most respected drivers out there.

They are doing the same thing to Danica. Hopefully her little butt shoving retaliation this last week will earn her a little respect too.

Its a complicated group of people, who all expect uncivilized behavior to gain respect. Kind of backwards to me.

They might be, all I know is they scrambled the commercial free live feed I used to watch, so I lost interest...To many commercials to make it even fun to watch. Then Fox and that gopher cartoon will be back next year, and I possibly might just throw up.

I was going to sit down and figure out how many laps of the race we actually got to see, and how many of the cautions occurred during commercial breaks forcing us to watch replays to see what happened. Seems more often than not.

I dont watch Hockey, but of the sports I do watch, Nascar is the only one I know of that actually makes you miss part of the action for commercials. Imagine if the NFL waited until your team was 1st and goal at the 5 yard line, and broke for 6 minutes of commercials, then came back and told you what happened while "we were gone".

TNT (I think) does it right. Shows the commercials while still showing the race in a PIP. At least that is tolerable.

Back in the day I remember Mark getting in people's faces. I do think to some degree everyone has to do it so that they don't get walked all over but not to the extent that Kyle does it. Tony at one time was pretty bad but not as bad as Kyle is, Kyle doesn't even respect his own team.

That "Digger" thing on FOX makes me want to puke too.

You should check out jayski.com, they have a good commercial time breakdown after each race.

I like TNT's "Wide Open" coverage, unfortunately they only do it for 1 race. I think IRL did it right, every race you saw the whole race because they did that PIP thing.

About 2/3rd of the race is televised...I thought it was less, but those are some pretty cool stats...101 commercials. Jeeze.

I can't wait until Jr leaves Hendrick and goes over to Gibbs racing. Imagine Jr in the 18 car.

It's because he is a cry baby! A spoiled brat of a 2 year old!!!

He finishes second and he storms off to the hauler/motor coach/helicopter and refuses to be interviewed. He acts like it's his "God given right" to have won the race!

THAT is why he is hated. He needs to grow up and understand he cannot win everything and therefore should not throw a temper tantrum each time!!!

I will say that he has showed some improvement in this year as far as being a little more conscience of the incidents and therefore, his responses.

+1 Hes not a good role model to kids, Hey if you don't win stick out your lip and pout and run off and hide till the next week. But if you win then do the interview and tell everyone how good you are!!!

Good Hotpass lineup for the final race.

    795 Denny Hamlin
    796 Jeff Gordon
    797 Kevin Harvick
    798 Jimmie Johnson

Will this be the final Hotpass?

Anyone who allows athletes to be role models for their kids needs to not have kids in the first place.

And I have watched every victory lane interview Kyle has given (including the ones where he donated the race winnings to Katrina victims and another race purse to a former driver who was sick and couldn't pay for treatment) and not once has he ever talked how good he is.

And obviously Kyle sometimes gets upset when he doesn't win. Lots of athletes get pissed when they lose so why the focus on Kyle?

Why? Because it is never Kyle's fault. Someone else is always at fault in his eyes. That shows a lack of maturity. The guy even rips into Mark Martin. That's like yelling at Santa Clause. Kyle is never responsible for his own actions. His brother grew up and gained respect from fans and fellow drivers. Kyle seems like a lost cause at this point.

So you tell your kids who there role model has to be? So if your kid played football and they looked up to and wanted to be just like peyton manning, you would not allow that? lol ok

A valid point. BUT, these folks know they are being looked up to and it is the part of "the price they pay" to make those $'s.

Of course not, he's the WINNER! He doesn't complain then - part of the point we make! Then again, he smashed his Nashville, handmade guitar into splinters with no regard.

Sometimes?! Don't watch much do ya Spacemaker? (Yes, I know you do).

In the past he ALWAYS stormed off - or - blamed someone else - or - said some smart@ss remark about someone else causing HIS loss. It's one thing to loose and be upset, it's another to NEVER take responsibility or act CIVIL and talk about the loss. Even when he "just gets beat", he storms off and refuses to talk - just like a 2yr old's temper tantrum!

Let me add that I thought much the same of Harvick. He acted like he was GOD when he took over Sr.s ride. But once he sat out Martinsville, he started to change. He still lets it show when he's not happy, but he gives the interview, takes his knocks - and his shots, and moves on. He blasts his crew, competitors yet he still gives that interview now instead of "taking his ball and going home"!

I think we should just agree to disagree on Kyle. We will never see eye to eye on this. And that's cool with me. Part of what makes being a NASCAR fan fun is these types of debates.:)

Maybe this last race will be the one where Logano get even with Harvick for all those times Harvick put him into the wall earlier in the year...And if Harvick took out Johnson in the process.....one can only dream... and SOMEONE get Hamlin a gas gauge.

Parents should be their kid's role models.

And you know what? My 7 year old watches quite a bit of racing and Kyle gives us lots of things to discuss. I ask him questions on if he thinks what Kyle did was right or wrong and why he thinks Kyle did it. I also asked him if he thought it was right for Jeff Gordon to shove Jeff Burton. Getting to have those conversations while watching something in which he shows so much interest is just a great opportunity to teach lessons on attitude, respect, composure and freedom of expression. There are things that Kyle does that I love and there are things he does that make me cringe. And that's what I like so much about him. It's fun to watch and always adds an element of drama and excitement the sport so badly needs. And one thing that can be agreed on by all is that we know that Kyle isn't one of those guys going around getting drunk and banging groupies. He just loves to race and hang with his chick. And I bet if Kyle were better looking he'd have a lot more fans.

It would definitely create some drama. I was wanting anyone but JJ to win but for some reason I just can't make myself pull for Denny I'd rather the Cup to at least stay with a Chevy team.

You know what would even be better? A good clean race where the best driver won, who ever it may be.

And let's not forget the time he won and the proceeded to destroy a custom hand made Gibson Les Paul that was hand painted by Sam Bass. He had no regard for the time that people spent making that guitar and the hard work they put into it, it was all about him.
