It's apparently "official" now that Cryle will drive the 18 Cup car with Interstate Batteries as his sponsor. It was supposed to be M&M's but apparently they are refusing to associate their name with him so Interstate apparently agreed to do so.

If I were Joe and JD Gibbs and I decided to let him drive, which I probably would not have, I'd make him drive un-sponsored in a plain white car with the exception of "TROUBLEMAKER" in big bold black letters on the hood. Then after Homestead I'd fire him.

If they were going to fire him then it would have been before this weekend.

It was just announced that Kyle won't be in the M and M's car in 2011 but will return in 2012. http://www.twitlonger.com/show/e47chn

So Kyle will remain with JGR and will run the remaining races with Interstate as a sponsor. M&M's will return to JGR in 2012 and Kyle will be their driver. The bottom line is that despite the troubles all parties know that dumping a driver with Kyle's incredible talent would be a very poor decision.

Plus all the publicity and attention, makes the sponsors happy.

Like I am going to pass a bag of M&M's by because the ad is on the hood of Kyle Busch's car? How ridiculous.

I am more inclined to shop at Home Depot because Lowes is on Johnson's car :)

The sponsors love it because of the news stories and interviews showing the driver and car, also shows their logos on the car. It is great for the exposure to their product.

Just giving him enough rope to hang himself. I'm pretty sure there's no doubt this will be his last chance.

M&M's doesn't like the bad attention, just ask Elliot Sadler. I read an interview earlier today with him where he said while he was driving for M&M's they would call and get on him about how he said things, if he did anything stupid, etc.

I disagree with the first part of the statement. Why go through the motions if you ultimately want him to fail?

I do agree that this is his last chance, at least with JGR.

I think Kyle and everyone else knows that he's got to mind his manners for awhile. I highly doubt we'll see any more blatantly destructive behavior from him during cautions. But I do hope that he doesn't change his green flag driving style at all. His aggression and ability to put his race cars in contention to win races is just extremely fun to watch.

I watched Kyle and Joe Gibb's presser on NASCAR.com. Kyle looks like he hasn't gotten much sleep. This whole ordeal has definitely taken some wind out of his sails. Humble pie and fear of loss tends to do that to someone.

    Sunny...
Hmmm. In fifteen years, I've only shopped at Home Depot 3 times because they sponsored Stewart back when he slapped recorders out of reporters hands, shoved photogs and pushed fans against haulers.

I use Lowes, not that I like JJ, but because I disrespect Stewart more. I will grant you that Stewart seems to have mellowed in years. However I wrote my displeasure to Home Depot corporate twice (actually letter) and never received a single reply.

So, I use the same logic with both Buschs - useless. BTW, I felt the same about Harvick. Seemed he thought his stuff didn't stink since he took over Sr's ride - unitl he had to sit out Martinsville. He started to improve from then. While he is still outspoken (no issue there) he is more respectful and no longer needs to use physical violence (breach of law) or act like a spoiled 6 year old!

I'll be tuned into Tony's channel all race. I REALLY hope he wins the Cup. Do not want Carl, Ford or Roush celebrating.

Smoke to Carl: "I'll wreck my mom to win a championship. I'll wreck YOUR mom to win a championship."

I, obviously, want Smoke to win it all but more importantly I just want the race to be over so that my heart rate comes back down...

I hear you Runner. I've had the double whammy three out of the last four weeks with the Giants playing the same time as the race. Two monitors became a regular thing in my Great room. I'll have to listen to the Giants on the radio my way home tomorrow night. First Giant game I'll miss in at least 20 years...Smoke better win.

Maybe we'll get lucky and Truex Jr, or Kurt Busch, will take out Carl on lap 1. :D
