Agreed that things have shifted for Jr. since crew chief swap. Out of the group this week, looks like I'll ride with him.

Another great weekend of racing, starting tonight.

I love that Kyle evokes such a reaction from some folks. After Gordon retires I will probably root for Kyle full time. He invokes the same love/hate reaction that Gordon did 10-12 years ago. A young driver with a boat load of talent to back up what he says and does and who wins a lot of races is exactly the sorely needed shot in the arm this sport needed. It's about damn time NASCAR has such a polarizing figure as Kyle. For years everyone was whining about how bland and corporate everything had become. Now this Kyle Busch kid has been sent to stir things up and create some excitement. I think Kyle is great and the fact that he gets under so many people's skin makes it even better.:)

I don't mind what you just descrbed, but Kyle also races dirty and puts everyone else at even more risk. He's lucky he walked away from the wreck with Tony earlier in the season and he's lucky he didn't kill anyone.

Though I am not a fan of his - I agree. We need more 'drive the wheels off' and must always win types, chase or no chase.

Just heard some interesting information. I was able to get tickets to the race tomorrow and was told by the agent that Directv will not be carrying Hotpass next season.

    Doesn't surprise me at all.

...Yeah, figures. I was going to post asking if folks thought it would be around in 2010.

I kind of figured this year was the "swan song" for Hotpass. I will just buy that NASCAR.com thing for next season and call it good if nothing else materializes as far as PPV available on D*.

Not a real loss IMO. I've only watched when Smoke has been on and when the race broadcast goes to commercial. I have Trackpass so I'll keep it for next season.

You think Kyle is the first driver like this since Jeffie? Methinks you forget Smoke!

He doesn't necessarily race dirty, he just races stupid and reckless.

    He'll calm down, you'll see...

You mean not even the Jr channel??? wow...

Sarcasm aside it's not a shock... Even though NASCAR is the #2 sport it will always be behind Football and Baseball as far as DirecTV is concerned.

wow thank god for the rain delay. Was at college football game and came back to being able to catch up to live feed here.

I really hope they dont do away with hotpass, i really will debate on switching if the HD channels on another side look/are better then. hotpass really keeps me here to be honest. you gotta love the in car and inside info if your a race fan and all.

All I can say is WOW. Someone got the weather report wrong last night. Totally threw off the race.

For all you Jr fans, I can personally tell ya, he does NOT rule Richmond. We saw more Smoke fans, along with Jeff's dominate the stands. Richmond also hates Kyle  . More people were rooting for Mark Martin as well as Denny than anyone else around us. Crowds went wide with his win.

We had the scanner with TV and there were six channels, the four that Hotpass had as well as Mark and Sadler. Of course I had Smokes channel on and was up quick when he and Reed mixed together. Tony was ever so the gracious man telling Reed it was his fault and he was sorry over the radio.

Lots of long green flags. It was a long, long night but well worth it.

Nice to see you enjoyed the race. It deff was a good one at times there.
Not too sure why anyone would think Jr. would come near to ruling Richmond. Denny is from Va. so he naturally has the most fans there. It was nice to see the kid get a win there though!

Smokes reaction was deff just another example of how much he has changed since he has become an owner. Also has caused a bunch of new fans to flow his way from what I saw this spring in LMS.

Getting ready/excited to go to LMS and be on the infield this October for the saturday race there on the 17th!!!

Stupid Clint Bowyer driving over his head ruined the night for the 24.

Yeah but Tony didn't make as big a splash as Jeff and Kyle. Tony was already an IRL champ and people expected him to run well. Also he came in at the height of the Dale Sr. vs. Gordon fan rivalry. No disrespect at all to Tony. His driving and notoriety speak volumes.

Yea, should have heard the boobirds yelling at Bowyer or anybody who got in Jeff's way. Also Kurt got a few boobirds his way as well.

Of all the drivers I was impressed with Joey. He stood his ground against the best of them, Smoke for one. On a few runs Smoke was awesome shooting out turn one, then adjustments made is worse. But Joey held his ground.

I DVR'd it and will watch some of it during the week.
