Having myHR20 and AT-9 dish up a month now and anticipating MPEG-4/HD Locals before the end of the year, I have gathered some information and want to verify it with someone.

    Satellite Sig Strength Content

    99 89% MPEG-4 (Lyngsat info)

101 91% Main Group of DTV Channels

    103 14% MPEG-4 (Lyngsat info)

    110 95% ESPN-HD, TNT-HD, U-HD etc

    119 93% ESPN2-HD, Discover-HD, HD-Net + All my Locals SD

From this table and other postings, I expect that I will be getting MPEG-4 Locals on either 99 or 103. 103 has no real signal strength at this time and this could be due to not being in any of spot beams. It could also be due to some sort of blockage, but I don't think so, as I'll explain below.

I have open sky between 99 and 119, trees bordering each edge. Since 103 is the satellite that is showing the lowest signal (and may be empty for me), BUT I have very strong signals on 99 and 101, as well as 110 and 119, it would seem to me, that I should have no problems if D* puts my MPEG-4/HD-Locals on 103.

I base this on 99 being the furthest East satellite, and 119 being the furthest West satellite. As long as I don't have any protruding obstructions between 99 and 119, then 103 should come in fine, once they spot beam my MPEG-4/HD-Locals down to me.

Is my analysis correct, from the information I've presented, and is there some other factor I should be considering?

Thanks to both of you for helping me get over a moment of insecurity.
