so... I am trying to get ready for VOD...

I have a D-Link DWL-G820 Game Adapter. I set it up for DHCP. To test it and set it up, I hooked it up to one of my computers and it works (I am able to connect to the network and the internet).

I then hooked it up to the HR20... It seem to load the DHCP settings ok (I noticed the correct IP address 192.168.1.XXX and the corrent DNS/Gateway 192.168.1.254 which is the one used by my 2WIRE DSL router. (subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 which should be correct).

Now, when I run the test, I get OK's for all the settings above and "Connected" to the Network test. BUT, I get "Not Connected" to the Internet. I have tried disabling the router firewall (I placed the device in the DMZ) to no avail.

I have seen other people have this trouble but I haven't seen a solution.

Anybody have any ideas that I could try?

    Thanks

Try resetting everything. The HR20, game adapter, router, and modem.

Unplug the modem, router, and game adapter.

Plug in the modem and let that start up.

Then plug in the router and let that start up.

Then plug in the game adapter.

    Then reset the HR20.

I have a similar problem. I'm using a Buffalo Tech ethernet converter. Iget the connected to network but not the internet. My pictures and music do work on the HR20. I just can't pass the internet test.

minterca, When you do a system test, are the IP address of your router and your DNS correct? If not can you hard set them?

    These look right to me.
I tried a wireless laptop 5 feet from the Buffalo Converter and get a very weak signal. Yet my network connection from the HR20 to my PC are connected and working. How can I increase reception on the antenna? The router (Westell 327)
Is only 25 to 30 feet away from the converter. My house gets lousy reception.
