This is a rough draft and pictures will likely be replaced and links to first looks added. I just wanted some feedback. Please be gentle. ;)

I think it looks very good at first glance. One thing I would suggest is changing the page break at the picture of the broadband DECA to keep the intro and pic on the same page, but this will change as the size of the pictures change too.

I will look a bit closer when I have time.

    Thanks!

    Looks excellent David.

Based on what I've read in the big thread and depending on when these documents get released, you may want to include the HR34 as a Network capable receiver.

Here are a couple of things that I found.

Under the "What is DECA?" an broadband DECA should be 'a' broadband.

Single Wire Multiswitch - should be MultiSwitch

    on Page 3.

    Do I still need....

DO NOT use Ethernet with the H24, H25... You can remove the H25 from that list because it does not have an Ethernet jack.

David I think this turned out great, do you need me to get pictures for you? I can take a picture of a receiver DECA but do not have a Broadband DECA. I can also take a picture of the WDCCK if you would like it.

When it is done it can be made into a PDF and I'll put it in the sticky.

Thanks again, let me know if your up to doing another one.

    Thanks for the comments, guys!

I am posting an updated version. The pics should be fine now, ready for watermarking, if necessary.

The .docx file was too large, so I uploaded a PDF.

My advice, take out the link to the "unsupported" thread. That thread will be replaced with an FAQ PDF in the next few months.

    Thanks Go Beavs!

Stuart, I took out the link. As this project goes forward, I would think there would be lots of crosslinking in these PDFs.

I resampled the pictures and have uploaded version 3, this time as a .docx file.

This is pretty good info that we should add to the current document. We can make room by making the last picture smaller.

I'm at work right now where I don't have the right version of Office to edit the file.

For the tests in the 24/25 you need to press the guide and right arrow "buttons" on the front panel, to bring up the menu and then select coax.
    I've taken these for a H25:

"Now" the 24s don't give the same readings and display about 10 dB more loss.

With the 24s the upper limit is 60 dB, and exceeding this causes the PHY MESH to drop off.

For the H25, I'd use 50 for the upper limit.

PHY MESH rates below 220 will trigger the system test error 47 "Home Network Distribution Problem – [Location Name(s) or "ROUTER - 000B6Bxxxxxx"] has a poor network connection".

The differences in levels I get between the H25 and HR24 are:
    H25 = -12 & HR24 = 23
    H25 = -18 & HR24 = 31
These are to the same hardware, through the same coax.

Since the 24/25s don't have LEDs, checking the DECA is done through the system information screen, under networking for "coax connected" to be listed.

    Use of static IP addresses:

When the broadband DECA is used and receivers drop off from the playlist, it helps to use static IP addresses outside the router's DHCP range on the receivers.

I'm attaching an updated file with the DECA lights explanation added. Do we want to add info on the coax test screens from the previous post?

What do you all think? If it needs to be there we should do it. I am leaving this up to you guys.

I've posted things that I believe were needed to be added.
"I'm only one of many" so....

I will add that if one of the goals here was to reduce "my stickies", then this should be included, or I want my stickies.
