This week I switched to E* after nine years with D*. Two free DVR units with four room viewing capability, 31 HD channels in MPEG-4 to choose from instead of 7 channels in MPEG-2 (on an HR10-250) and a better OTA tuner made the switch a "no brainer". I'm eagerly awaiting the install next Wednesday. I'll have a 625 SD receiver in one room and a 622 HD receiver in the other.

Does anyone know what software version will most likely be loaded on the 622 unit?

Will it likely need to undergo several serial software updates and if so, how long will this take?

    Thanks in advance. :)

Current software is L404 ... As soon as you get your receiver connected to the satellite it will want to download the most current version.

E* doesn't require the receiver to download serial steps. It will go straight to the new software.

According to my unit, L403 is still the current version for most of us.

It should get either 4.03 or 4.04, depending on the serial # of the unit.
