Just had my upgrade. Some channels ( I have yet to find a common pattern) have a thin white line across top and bottom of screen...

    TV is Elite Pro 60

One odd issue is if I go to display settings and select 1080p its says my tv is not compatible with Direct tv 1080P.. ???? All other formats are selected....

How are you connected? Did you have a directv box on that TV before?

RE the 1080 formats- there's very little 1080p available via Directv. How old is your TV?

Probably doesn't support 1080p/24, that would cause that message.

Does the white line show up on CBS or Fox? If it only shows on one, also check ABC and NBC.
