I finally got Bluegrass to install my dish. DirecTV ordered them to install the new Slimline 3 dish yesterday. Bluegrass said I was the first in our area to get it. They also said they have not received their training on the unit yet. The supervisor and the installer showed up at 3:30 and actually were done at 5:30, except the installer was on the phone trying to activated my second receiver for an hour, which was not his fault. I also helped with running the cable in the attic, and it was pretty hot up there. The two men did a great job. I ended up knowing the supervisor from years ago as I used to deliver to him (UPS) at his resturant he owned. As of right now, everything is running and looking great.:D

The installers will actually install them without LOS to 119. 119 is impossible to get a Line of site to for a lot of people (disproportionate to the amount of people not being about to get 99/101/103 because of the angle of 119).

    How much?

What is the going "tip rate" these dates, if installer does a good clean install and takes care of your "needs"?

    and 110 ;)
The SL5 needs 99/101/103/110/119 while the SL3 only needs 99/101/103 LOS.

Since 110 and 119 are only being used for a few local markets and international programming in the future, most only need to see 99/101/103.

I've still yet to find a retailer with the SL3 LNB unit available for sale.

I did tip $20. I actually ran all the cables, but not to the grounding box. I got two HR-20 receivers.

That sucks, couldn't they make a dish smaller than the triple sat for 3 satellites that close together?

I believe the dish size is set by the need to get a certain gain for the Ka band.

On eBay, someone is selling the LNBs by themselves (i.e., without the Slimline dish). Store is "queenshebascloset."
The LNB is an "Eagle Aspen SL3P" [or SL3-P].
Advertised with tag line: "LOSING LINE OF SIGHT 4 110/119? THEN THIS IS YOUR CURE!"
On eBay.com, search for "slimline-3 lnb".

I have no other information on it. Google is currently unavailing. I cannot find it on the Eagle Aspen site.

P.S. Cannot post a link, due to being post-count-challenged.
