It takes a lot of cameras to cover golf, they probably don't want to spend that much.

I just tried to setup a recording on my HR10-250,it says it's a Pay Per View and will not let me record it, as it says to call DirecTV, ext. 741. I wasted 30 minutes on the phone with the advanced tech support folks - and nothing - they're clueless, as usual.
    ARGH!
I'll try again at 8PM EST just to see.

That is what I said above. However, with the HR20, you can record first, then pay later (in this case, I'd expect no charge to ever come, but in your case, you can't even record).

I'm watching this on channel 94 on my HR20 (AU9 5 LNB slimline dish) - anybody know if this is MPEG2 or MPEG4 ? Looks very very good.

Perhaps its because Ch 94 is normally a MLB channel. Now that the game is underway I am getting it fine, in fact I got the pre game an hour before.

At least you guy's can get it..........I have a RCA 38" tube TV that has a built-in DirecTV tuner, which is for all the world, a RCA DTC-100 digital H/D
tuner. I cannot tune this channel (94-I expect it is mpeg2?). Granted this is older tech., but I feel D* has a obligation to provide access to this channel.
It does not even show as a channel I can receive...all other chennels work fine so it's not a equipt. thing.

I thought it looked awful (JMHO). There was blocking on any zoomed shot in the background. I don't know the technical terms, but it looked piss poor. I was flipping between it and the Matchbox 20 thing, and the concert was much cleaner, even with all the lighting.

I agree that it looked bad, alot of blocking several of my guests asked me what was wrong. And i am usually one to defend Direct's PQ in HD. Dont get me wrong, as long as the camera was still it looked great, but once it started moving even a little, it was terrible. Just seems like they were squeezing a little hard. Oh well should change soon!

No different then the fact that *every* HD receiver that's not an H20 or HR20 will be unable to get any of the new HD channels and eventually all of the sat delivered HD channels. DirecTV will gladly upgrade you to a new receiver.

At least I'm not the only one. Maybe it should have been in 720P instead? This is my HD football season, I hope this isn't what to expect in the fall.
