I know it's still a little early but I was wondering if anyone has received any offers or discounts on Sunday Ticket for the upcoming 2014 season. I've called a few times and have been unsuccessful. I'm wondering if they're going to be less generous this year given that they haven't renewed ST past 2014 and now the ATT/DTV merger news.

It's way to early. I've been successful a few times but most years I'm not. Some people get it for free every year, or at least they claim to. The rest of us don't.

I have never gotten NFL Sunday Ticket for free & I have been a very loyal subscriber every year since 1997. I have always had to pay. It makes me sick every year to see the commercials that start up in the mid-to-late summer where new subscribers now can get NFL Sunday Ticket for free for their first year. I have always had to pay-up since day 1.

If you arent geting ST free or at least getting a very good $$ discount you are doing something drastically wrong during the call in process.

I love DirecTv. Love the picture quality. Love the Sports. I just wish they would give longtime loyal customer like myself and many other folks a break once in a while. Just Sayin.

I would wait till the season gets closer. I've had more successful attempts at the season sports packs at the start of the season.
For what it's worth I got free MLB EI this year as an existing customer. I got a $41 credit for six months and $32 for 6 months after that.

Have you called to try to get a break? They aren't going to just give it to you if you don't ask.

I've either gotten NFLST for free or for very little ever since I started subscribing to Directv in 2001. But it seems like Directv has taken steps to make it more difficult to contact Retention. I don't think there's a magic word or phrase (like "cancel" or "cancel my subscription") you can say when you call up that will get you to Retention anymore. I'm wondering if that change isn't going to impact the deals people are able to get this year.

Agreed, the deal I typically get involves me either paying $50 or sometimes nothing for ST in exchange for a 1 year commitment.

I've noticed not to many people responding to this topic but I thought I would let you know that DTV is now making deals for ST.

I called DTV yesterday because I stopped getting Channel 720 (part of the EI baseball package-- mix channel). I haven't had EI for years and but I was still able to get the mix channel without EI. Well it stopped working so I called DTV to see what kind of deal I could get for EI.

When I called I told the CSR that I also get ST and didn't want to do anything to mess with getting ST for a discounted rate.

    Here's what was offered:

ST for free with a new 1 year commitment (no bill credits -- straight out for free) ST Max was an additional $90.00 (they are not discounting or giving ST Max for free right now). I said no to the ST Max and figured I would call again closer to the season and try to ST Max for free.

I also got EI for $97.94 (was trying to get half-off price a month early that is offered at the All-Star break). They gave me $100.00 instant off price -- no bill credits.

    I jumped on this deal.

Told my friend about my deal. He called and was told that he could get ST for $50.00 and that ST Max was additional money. He didn't try to get ST Max because he doesn't need or want it.

Just got off the phone with customer retention. Just say "cancel" at the prompt and it will transfer you to a CSR representative.

I LOVE DIRECTV! My CSR rep was very pleasant!

I get NFL ST with MAX @ $54.99 for 6 months (1 yr. commitment) and a new Genie (2 yr. commitment) free installation

$20 off per month for 12 months.
$10 off per month for 12 months.
$5 off HBO for 6 months.
    $100 gift card.

    Very pleased.

since i already received a free C41W upgrade, I doubt I'll get free ST this year, but it won't hurt to try it again since I did get ST Max free last season.

They just offerred me ST Max for $31.99 a month for 6 months. I said cancel Sunday Ticket as the prompt to the customer service rep I spoke with. I told them I recieved a better deal last year when they gave it to me for free (been with DTV for 6yrs) and I wanted to think about it. I might try the cancel my service option, I only have 6 months left on my contract (I am not planning on leaving) and see if they will provide something better. I got MLB EI for $120 this year, so if I can get something simlar for ST I will pull the trigger and re-up.
