We go through this every year. Very little information is posted about the games, before and early into the season. As the season goes along things progress and schedules and guides are more accurate. Just because you don't see that many games listed for HD, now, doesn't mean that we won't have them by game time.

Ah, how soon they forget. Actually, I had forgotten as well.... I don't think the Sunday ticket schedule was complete in the guide until the Saturday prior of the first Sunday this year. Even on Sunday, I remember some comments on not seeing the correct block of time for a certain game....

The bottom line is, we all know D is a little slow out the box with *all* their sports packages. They work themsleves out. Center Ice was fantasic last year. I'm not expecting anything less with this year's offering.

I thought the RSN channel numbers are blacked out and we have to catch the games on the CI channel numbers?

I don't think that's true. Certainly wasn't true for MLBEI. Since FSN Pittsburgh has every Pens game (other than ones on VS and NBC) I just set up a keyword search to search that channel only. I certainly hope they won't be blacked out.

Some RSNs, like MSG/MSG+, will have all of their team's games on in HD (except when Versus has national exclusivity). Every Rangers game on MSG will be in HD this season. Awesome!

No, they are open -- at least for those who have sports pack, but I thought that they were open for everyone during the games (since I do have it, I can't test this).

I used to think it was necessary, but I believe that folks without sports pack said last year that they could watch the RSN channels during the games themselves. I'm sure someone will chime in.

The RSN channels *should* be open to those with Center Ice because that's all DirecTV is doing is just remapping the games on the RSNs to the 700s, they aren't actual separate feeds, total waste of bandwidth. But the channel will only be open during the game times of course. Sports pack would get you pre and post game shows, assuming the NHL team doesn't black those out.

At least that's how it has worked in the past.

I have the issue some others have reported that half or more of the NHL CI channels are "grayed out." (Since it's actually light blue, that's probably not a good term.) Actually, what happened was that when I first added the NHL CI channels to my guide, they were all dark. Then with yesterday's fiasco, checking today I found that at least half are no longer dark on all 3 DVRs. I am not going to be happy if it stays this way, because I know from past experience the CSRs will have no clue how to fix this.

I would also like to chime in on the scheduling situation. I cannot for the life of me figure out what the issues are with getting an accurate schedule out even weeks before the games. It's not like D* hasn't been doing this a while (I've had NHL CI for 13 years!), and it's not like they don't have a schedule. Hell, I have a schedule just looking at NHL.COM. Why should it matter if it's the beginning of the season or the middle? They had all summer to work on the glitches that were apparent last season when they increased their HD games, added the -1 channels, and started showing both feeds. What is the problem with figuring out ahead of time what games are going to be on what channels and when? Putting a satellite into orbit so we can get D* in the first place may be rocket science, but this isn't!

SatelliteRacer are you looking???? Please, get us a reliable schedule at least a week in advance both online and on the guide. I think that's the least D* can do!

For us people new to D*, was last year's schedule that was still up on D's site until a few days ago an accurate representation of what games were shown in HD? Even toward the end of the year it didn't seem like much. I am an out-of-market Colorado Avalanche fan who both called and emailed Altitude recently and was assured that all Avalanche home game HD feeds are made available to Center Ice. I am sure it is the same for other teams and their RSNs. So, the million dollar question is if the RSNs make their HD feeds available to Center Ice, why would they choose not to make them available to us? Does D* also have a role in the process? I thought for sure if I paid for Center Ice AND the sports pack that I would at least get all home game Altitude feeds in HD via Center Ice. Can someone please explain why we wouldn't get the HD feeds on Center Ice if the RSNs make them available? Like I said, I'm still new. Thanks.

Just wanted to say I hope that the Canucks (12 games), Flames (10), and Oilers (12) have all their PPV games in HD this year.

Just wanted to add those to the wish list.

Really want/need Altitude HD games available as well.

Also comparing the schedule at NHL.com with the channels offered by DirecTv there are at least 3 games on Friday that should be HD but none are shown?

    What is up?

Almost all of mine are greyed out. Only 769-1, 785 and 786 are dark blue. Interestingly, the channels reassigned to the NBA (764-769) are all dark blue. Since I've been receiving the NHL channel (215) since NHLCI was turned on, I assummed the greyed out NHLCI channels was normal and will turn dark blue before Thursday. Do most NHLCI subscribers already have the HNLCI channels showing dark blue in the Guide?

schedule and ungreyed out would be nice as would getting all those NBA channels over to NHL. Even just letting us watch both feeds on the rsn's in the 600's would be fine

I have been an NHL CI subscriber on Directv since it has been available. What I have found is the schedule indicating HD games on Directv.com is very inaccurate. It usually indicates very few HD games when in REALITY there are many games on HD. You would think the schedule would be up to date to make sure non subscibers will see what is available.

Last season there were a lot of duel feed games in HD (meaning both the home and away teams broadcast were available). This season NHL Network is showing all CBC hockey night in Canada games in HD on Saturday nights.

If you are a hockey fan you WILL NOT be disappointed with the amount of HD games on NHLCI on directv.

I am sure I won't be disappointed with the amount of HD hockey on CI this year, but give is a d*** schedule already that's accurate so we can plan our viewing/recording! I just looked at the D* online schedule, and what I am struck by so far is not only that none of the listings show games that are being broadcast by their RSN in HD as being in HD on CI, but for games that have been assigned a channel, there are no dual feeds.
