I had this issue last night. The RBR "Red Button Reset" did not work. Unplug receiver from wall and have the unit go through the set up process. It should work fine after that.

I talk to CSR last night and I believe a new code was sent out and this might be causing the issue. If that doesn't work...unplug unit from wall...swap the two cable connections on the back of the receiver and plug back in...go through set up process and that should do it as well.

So far I have been recording all the games I want to see (generally 2-4 per night) on the RSNs _no sports pack for me, just CI). When setting up the recording I get some message like "this may not be available do you still want to schedule it" and I always choose yes. I have not had a problem yet.

One thing the NHL needs to do (or maybe its the networks) is to schedule hockey games for 3 hours instead of 2hrs30min, thats just not enough time. But I always pad the games by an hour anyways.

Does anyone else have the -1 channels in the guide grayed out while the SD channels aren't? When I tuned to the -1 channels last night I got a channel not purchased message, but the SD versions worked fine. I went to the website and had my service refreshed. Hopefully that will fix it.

Good deal. I get the same "not authorized" message, so I was reluctant to record. I'll give that a try...

As an aside - is anyone seeing the Sabre game HD feed for tonight's tilt against Atlanta? I see the SD feed on 774, but no HD. The RSN shows the game on 638-1 NYaHD....

    @marlen

I had the same issue that you did and nothing helped. I spent the entire 1st Period on the phone with a CSR while I reset etc. The Sabres game never came on 777-1 or 638-1. Not to mention no Lexus Shootout on either...

I had to call again later because the Canes/Kings game was not visible on the HD feed.... while waiting it came on but I told the CSR I wanted the higher-ups to know that there are people having issues while others are not. It's puzzling to see posts complaining about no HD feed while *I* can get it... and now last night I couldn't get the Sabres in HD while others did.... frustrating to say the least.

I do feel for all those having problems seeing or recording the HD versions of games as I had similar problems with intermittently "grayed out" HD last season. I also had a few days last year where, like Marlen, I was able to watch a game but when trying to record was told that I was not authorized to record it. Like him I could also record the RSN version that was on simultaneously. Luckily that hasn't happened yet this year.

What has happened to me and is quite worrisome for a time in the future when I won't be here to be on top of things is that last night when I went to see if both DVRs (I have an HR20 and HR22) were recording the Rangers/Maple Leafs, neither was. Both had been set to record, and when I tuned to the channel, the game was there. I manually started both DVRs, and they recorded. Going into the "history" there was no mention that either DVR had been set to record that game. Usually, you will find "canceled" or "deleted," but there was nothing about why they weren't recording.

Both DVRs were set to record the Rangers/Red Wings game tonight. Checking this morning I found that neither DVR had the game in the "to do list." Again there was nothing in the history suggesting that either had ever been set up to record this game.

Monday evening I will not be home to start recording manually, and if I don't get the Rangers/Stars on Monday, I will not be happy.

Certainly understand that everyone is not seeing these issues. Back when the DVR first came out, many people were experiencing problem with lost recording etc and trashing the fact that D* released this thing too early. I had relatively little to complain about relative to the rest of the forum so I was pretty happy, but their feedback was helpful in resolving the problems and now we have a stable unit. (minus that guide thing last week that locked up a large amount of people's units) My post was to inform the group that this issue appeared for me, perhaps others experienced it as well......any maybe just a little very little "rant"

I've been padding all mine by 1/2 hour. 2.5 is definitely not enough.

Sharks vs Ducks recording on CSN-BA started with a generic full sceen Directv logo for me. FFWD a minute or two and the program started - no other issues.

Looks like there will be two of the three CBC feeds available on DirecTV tonight.

The Leafs and Pens on the NHL Network and Montreal Phoenix on 770. I say this because I don't think there is a local broadcast of the Phoenix game.

I never did get any HD games all night including MSG, which is now coming in fine.

I'm not a very happy camper about this.

D* appears to be having some MAJOR issues with turning on HD games on NHL CI. No idea if they know of the problem or not. I refreshed my services the other night, but some of the games still didn't come on last night.

Can someone in the know, such as Satelliteracer, please let us know if D* is aware of and working on this problem? Thanks.

Has anyone been attempting to tape the sabre game on 638-1 NYaHD? Once again CI has NOT listed the HD feed. SD ONly - yet the RSN has the game.

Who's to blame for this Sh&t? If I wasn't home babytsitting my D* DVR and it's Guide - I wouldn't see any hockey that I intended to record...... We're going the wrong way. More HD content is only good if you have a chance to see it.

    Let's here from the apologists...

This is precisely why I resorted to this: http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=141907

I then record all my games on the RSN and I have yet to have an issue. Many time it will not even show as HD in the guide - but it is.

but it's not - only a blank screen is displayed. The RSN SD channel is good.....if you like hockey in SD
