Are we sure that someone at the CBC didn't give the NHL Network the wrong feed or maybe someone at the NHL Network pushed the wrong button? DirecTV was off the hook on this one!

Does anybody know if NHL Network will still be providing Hockey Night In Canada feed during the playoffs on Saturday. If we are forced to watch the SD broadcast on NHLCI it will be a shame. 4 NY teams no HD....Flyers no HD...Canadian broadcast...no HD. Bye bye NHLCI for me next season if this continues.

    So True!!
I just got the CI pack, and the one thing that stands out (I'm in the LA market) is the professionalism of the play by play & commentators on the East Coast.

I watched the Bruins/Ducks NESN feed, and of course, Jack Edwards & Andy Brickley are well known for their work on VS, but it was a joy NOT to hear the quacks who call the Ducks games here in CA. I don't recall the announcers for the Pens/Hawks (Pens feed), but again, objective, concise, and professional.

I'm old school, and my favorites were Dan Kelly, and Marv Albert, when he did the Rangers.
I was thrilled, when I saw a St. Louis Blues game, and it had to be Dan Kelly's son doing the play by play. I understand Albert's brother does the Rangers, but haven't caught any MSG games.

Bottom line, LA Kings & Anaheim Ducks have awful hockey sportscasters, and very few games in HD.

My theory for both complaints is, LA is a really bad hockey market.

The pre-game folks announced that there was going to be a ceremony. So probably D also was a tad at fault. They were asleep at the switch.

I'm also old school.I'm not a Rangers fan but I used to like to listen to Jim Gordon and Bill Chadwick on the radio side.

Looks like even the CBC is unable to get MSG-HD games.

In last night's highlights inter-game show, they showed the Bruins game in stunning NESN HD. They showed 2 or 3 other games in HD. Came to the Rangers, Sabres, Devils, and SD reigned.

The Dolans really need to be taken to the woodshed. What a bunch of morons.

That is true, but we still have a lot more HD broadcasts than we did last year. Example: Tuesday night there are 11 HD telecasts, to choose from. In the past we were lucky to get one HD game on one of the 90's channels.

Steve Albert, Marv's brother, does the Rangers games on radio. Sam Rosen and Joe Micheletti do the games on TV. Steve Albert occasionally fills in when Sam is doing football for FOX.

BTW, you may like Jack Edwards, but I think he is one of the worst announcers I've ever heard do a hockey game. I used to dislike him when he did the games on HDNet, but he grew up in Boston and is possibly the biggest Bruins fan in the world, and now that he does the Bruins games on NESN, I just can't listen. I actually turn the sound off at times.

I also liked Jim Gordon and "The Big Whistle," Bill Chadwick. Those were the days.

I think Randy Hahn and Drew Remenda are great in SJ.Chris Cuthbert I think has one of the greatest hockey voices around. We don't hear too much of him these days here in the states.I think he does TSN games in Canada and the occasional NBC game I'ved heard him do.I wish he was still on CBC.Another one I'd like to hear more of is Jiggs McDonald. He also has a great PxP voice.Come out of retirement Jiggs ! :)

tsn and cbc will likely be doing games every night during the playoffs, but versus has national rights for the playoffs, so most likely there will be very few or no games on the nhl network.

Well..the key word is "past" this is now. Games are available in HD (ie. TSN, Sportsnet in Canada, MSG and CBC). There is no excuses for coverage that is available not to be broadcast. PERIOD!

Yes, but I don't recall any being in HD so they probably could have been seen just as easily on CI and I think some might have been in HD had we not gotten the feed on VS. Could be wrong, but my memory is better than perfect, now where did I put my pen???

That was a stupid mistake. I knew Kenny was Marv's son, but I was mixing him up with Steve.
