Showing NESN-HD and MSG (but no MSG-Hd?)
I saw that, but the DirecTV guide and Sports Guide doesn't show it as part of CI, or for that matter at all. Hope it is just the guide that needs updating.
I'm noticing that tonight's Blackhawks/Predators game, scheduled for 9pm ET, is listed on CSN Chicago at 8:30 ET instead.
Obviously the guide needs a little work today.
It probably opens up at 8:30 with game time being 9:00.
7:30pm Blackhawks Pregame Live
8:00pm Blackhawks @ Nashville LIVE
(times listed are CST)
They've been showing the games on M.S.G. channel#638. I called about the same issue last game & they had no explanation..............
Versus will pick the game up if NBC cuts it off for the horse race crap?
I think it has only happened once and in that case I know they did switch to VS. It was when Bill Clement was still doing Hockey Central or whatever it is called. If I remember correctly the pre race show as supposed to go for like 90 minutes and maybe 45 minutes before the race they said the game would be continued on VS.
Come on guys. The Derby may not be important to hockey fans, but to those wanting to see the Derby hockey may not be important to them. If the game runs over, there's no harm in switching over to Versus so horse racing fans can see their Super Bowl.
Forget the Alpo Derby, it is hockey playoff time.
For those who get Versus, there is no harm. Many people get NBC and don't get Versus, including all D* subscribers until a few weeks ago. Furthermore, having coverage switch networks can cause problems for those setting their DVR's to record the game. I may or may not be around when the game is played, so how should I set the DVR? At what time do I start recording on Versus?
Well, you could set a manual record of VS about the time coverage, not the race itself, is set to begin, or even ten minutes before. It really is not that hard. I agree it is an annoyance and I would have to get a lot more interested to get up to not giving a rat's rear over horse racing....................
Nonetheless, a lot of people do find the derby great to watch and at least there is a way to see a game all the way through if it does go into overtime. And when they did the ole switcheroo a few years ago, they did wait for a non trivial stoppage.
There will no issue with NHL/Derby/Versus/NBC. The front-end of NBC's derby coverage includes no actual racing at all. There will be plenty of time for the game to be completed prior to any derby races.
You know, if NBC had some kind of contract scenario where they HAD to stay with the hockey game through to the end and were forced to tape-delay the derby, I would love to see the game to to 5x overtime just to see how much s*it would hit the fan with all the media backlash and everything.
NBC's coverage of the Derby is as follows:
“Access at the Kentucky Derby / Kentucky Derby Red Carpet Special”
Saturday, May 1
4-5 p.m. EDT
“Kentucky Derby 136”
Saturday, May 1
5-7 p.m. EDT
Keep in them in that post time for the race isn't even until 6:24 EDT. There will be plenty of time for afternoon hockey.
This past Saturday was a tough one for Blackhawk fans in the Portland, OR DMA. We complain because we don't get to the see the Trail Blazers play - DirecTV hasn't been able to come to terms with Comcast to show Comcast Sportsnet NW - We go all year without seeing the Blazers, now the post season hits and they show the Blazers on, you guessed it, the local NBC affiliate! So on Saturday afternoon, instead of the Hawks we got the Blazers.
There could be an argument in there somewhere to have the NBC games on a Center Ice channel, at least when it's not being showed locally. What a game I missed too. I do have XM, so I sat in the shop, drank beer and kicked it old school, listening to it on the radio - what a game!
Yes, but several years ago either the first or second year post lockout, the game went into a second or even third ot, I believe, but did not end soon enough for NBC so they cut the game off and had a load of pre race coverage. I would guess a 45 minutes or even more.
...the schedule hasn't even been released yet, has it? Let's cross that bridge when we get to it. We can always check with SNFmixer over at AVS. He can get an answer for us.
The wgn720 feed is free on line.
At lest they stay on for the local area till the end of game right?
If not and the VS feed get's black out then the back lash will be much bigger then the lack of HD for usa vs canada game 1.
So, whats the channel numbers for tonights bruins and sabres game?
