Makes me wonder if the NHL is less cooperative.

Not sure what you mean by less cooperative, In Demand for cable had a half baked NHL mix channel for years. It sad that the NHL fans can't get a TV App, let alone a mix channel.

The biggest problem right now is the quality of these feeds. I have mlb.tv, there are times when the picture is extremely sharp and clear, but nowhere near the quality of an MLB extra inning feed. I can stand watching baseball on mlb.tv, but can't handle watching hockey online via gamecenter, even if the quality is comparable to mlb.tv. The speed of hockey just doesn't lend itself to online watching at this point (obviously, just my opinion; many find it perfectly acceptable) I would think you would need about 15 Mb/s to get a "hd" quality picture. I don't think that gamecenter does even half of that yet. Obviously, at some point we will be able to receive a "good" hd picture thru our computers, I just don't think we are there yet. It would be nice though if gamecenter (and mlb.tv) was included with NHL CI (and MLB EI). Would definitely be willing to pay the extra $75 to get MLB Extra Inning if it included mlb.tv, just can't justify getting both, especially since I have a roku player hooked to my tv.

I hope they would at least have a channel that would have an up-to-minute scoreboard of all the games in progress. That's really all I use MLB EI mix for anyways.

While on the topic of the mix channel. I really like the direct double play feature because it allows me to have both of my tuners active. Why doesn't direct implement a pip feature with their boxes? It doesn't seem like the software implementation would be that hard? This would allow us to watch 2 games at a time at least.

the streaming of NHL game center live.

Would having a faster PC with a better graphics card, memory ram, and better interent make it stream better.

I have yet to see it through comcast high speed. I will try the free preivew and see.

I got a new pc it runs fast has hell and the bandwidth is very fast.

i hope it improves the flow of the NHL games online.

I would imagine that would help alot. That being said, don't expect the same quality as an ota hd feed. Just not possible with the signal that is being sent out from gamecenter, even with a computer that could handle such a signal.

i wonder if they will be upgrading it.

Also with NFL going on strike next year possibliy i wonder if NHL capitalizes on the chance to take advantage.

no word on comcast/nbc/versus/usa network or espn abc deal yet.

Does Directv had a scoreboard channel with scores and standings? Coming from Dish, they had a channel like this and it also would tell you the channel number the game was on. Granted, it wasn't a "mix" channel with video feeds but did show scores, stats & standings..

They haven't announced anything yet. I haven't even got my mini ticket package in the mail yet. They are having the annual Caniac Carnival next Saturday (Sept. 18) and they usually put them on sale that day, so the public can buy tickets while at the carnival.

Hope to see you at the RBC for a game!

Well I got tickets to the February 18th game, so I'll be to that one! They aren't the best seats in the world but they're not bad either.

If you're going to make a trip all the way to Raleigh, I would get some lower level tickets. I used to know a chick that would hook me up with cheap tickets but lost contact with her. The best I can do is get you tickets without the ticketmaster fees, but that's it..

Directv has something called scoreguide. (Can be activated a couple of ways) It is a small overlay that takes up about 1/4 of the screen. If you hit the red button while on a sports channel it will pop up. (don't need an internet connection) Scoreguide can also be activated via the TV apps on the directv box. (right arrow) (need an internet connection to activate scoreguide this way) It has all the scores and results from different sports. It also has the channels (often time several channels) that the event is on. (can click it and it will go to the channel)

Yeah I know about that CBMC, appreciate you telling me about it though..I was hoping they had a channel devoted to the NHL like Dish does with standings and such.

It's no biggie though. I'll take the more HD hockey over that channel any day!
