I personally don't care about someone telling me what they think will happen, before the game, or someone telling me what I just saw, after the game. I know everyone has different wants, but the only thing I care about is to see the game.

regardless, many of us very much look forward to it. we looked forward to it even more when it was shown from start to finish in hd through the nhl network. i sure hope the above is not what the schedule for saturday night will look like over the coming weeks on the nhl network.... if it does then mr. bettman will have another topic he will be deluged with queries about on his xm radio program over the next couple of months...

There has been a change in the NHL network schedule for a couple of Flyers games this week. Seems that NHLN isn't going to show them & are replacing them with a couple of Maple Leafs games. Wonder what's going on? Comcast not letting them use the signal?

Oh yeah, that's right...forgot about that. Well I'm not sure what the deal is then, unless there is a problem with the feed transferring to NHLN for some reason?

I wish they could have it like two years ago but i doubt it. however at least the first game will be shown according to the NHL network website:

Saturday’s feature the acclaimed "Hockey Night in Canada" telecasts.

the games were on leafs tv both flyers leafs games from last week. NHL N just simulcasted the game.

It wasn't even blacked out in the philly market.

however flyers will have 2 games on NHL N this week WED and FRI both games will be blacked out in philly market because TCN and CSN will be doing the telecast.

this will be the longest free trail i think i seen.

oct 7 - 24 thats alot of free games.

i see they renamed the areana in vancouver to rogers arena and have a 40 years logo in the ice now.

apologies for just asking instead of going back and reading through the whole thread, but... has there been any word as to whether "to go" will be an option for nhl center ice anytime soon? being able to watch the canucks on my ipad during evenings at work would be awesome (especially if it came with the option to record the games - even if the recordings were only available for a 24 hour window).

on weeknights, i tend to do my sports watching after the wife has gone to bed around midnight (i'm fortunate enough to have a job where i can roll into the office between 11:00 am and noon, so i routinely stay up until 2:30 or 3:00); this isn't so bad during baseball season when i'm mostly just following one team. once pro basketball, college basketball, and hockey get going at the same time, however, the games really start to pile up.

personally, having a window of a couple of hours in the evening to put on a hockey or nba game while i'm working would probably be the difference between what i currently settle for (seeing the canucks and pistons whenever they happen to be on the channels i already get) and opting to subscribe to center ice and league pass.

not sure the to go option will ever be made available because of the nhl already having a service for that. i wish the nhl would package both together for center ice subscribers. i for one would be willing to pay slightly more for such an option.... justin tv has a barely functioning app for the iphone that may perhaps get better as months go by. not a great option but at least it exists.

Your best bet would be a slingbox plus the slingplayer app for iPad

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, NHL Network has changed the two Philly games to a couple of Maple Leaf games. So they're not even showing these games at all..

Here's an interesting article i found concerning the NHL's new policies this year with streaming live games. NHL Gamecenter is offering both feeds this year of games plus it will include support for mobile devices. Not to mention the feeds from Canada are in HD (on your pc atleast).

I actually spoke to comcast about NHL Center ice, they get the NHL CI via indemand. However in my area they don't offer the service in HD.

I found that they freed up bandwidth and will be able to offer all NHL CI games in Hd they are going to be releasing new boxes and have plans to have the service up by 2012

it would be nice to have in market access to the flyers.

CSNphilly tried that with the sixers last year. But you had to have comcast service inorder to even order the sixers inmarket games.

DIRECTV does have MSG-B as a part time RSN. It only carries the Sabres games and the post game show. It's the feed they use for the NHL CI package for Sabres games. Although you only get the games if you subscribe to NHL CI. And you only get the post game show if you subscribe to the Sports Pack.

And the comments about no Sabres games on MSG, as was mentioned, they did have the TSN feed against Ottowa on Tuesday evening. It was played in a small arena in Dundas Ontario, this years Canadian Hockeytown winners.

Tried that myself earlier today. Didnt get a discount on NHLCI, but they did give me Starz free for 3 months. Would have rather had the discount, but hey, I'll take it. Made the wife happy at least.
