It would be nice if they fixed the width of the listing so it showed the entire horizontal listing on the screen, without having to scroll left and right.

This one is a little smaller in size but you don't have to keep scrolling back and forth.

DTV is incapable of making a user friendly guide. From their receiver UI to their website all the guides are horrible!

any rogers sports net one games there?

I think first real test NOV 7 when the game is only on WGN 9 or on a sports net one sub feed. But WGN 9 is also on SAT and cable in canada.

In less other teams have a OTA game that is only on OTA or sports net one.

    I couldn't have said it better !

Hockey Night in Canada in HD is a must have.

We can rely on a couple of things here.

1] It is almost certain that there will be HD feeds of HNIC included in Center Ice. If you think it is a MUST HAVE then don't purchase the package. For me at least I'll watch it in SD if I have to...

2] The only Canadian HD feeds will be from Rogers Sportsnet which DirecTV already uses for MLB Extra Innings.

The ONLY hope for HNIC in HD is for the NHL NHL Network to pick up all, or more probably, part of it.

The price increased again this year, but what has been improved? I remember when Center Ice was closer to $100 than $200. Its 2010 and for what we're paying, every HD feed should be made available. If a Habs fan wants to watch his team play on RDS-HD, he should get that option.

What's going to come first? Charging $200 for Center Ice or Canadian HD feeds?

I could be missing something, but I watched two Buffalo games this week and each was a Canadian broadcast. Both were in HD - which was surprising seeing that the game against Ottawa was played at some local rink in "Hockeyville that held about 97 people! The other game against the Canadians from the Bell Centre was also in HD - which was also a pleasant surprise as the lead in opening had the studio show in SD......I'll take the studio in SD - if we can get the games in HD.....

Yes, but they were on NHL Network which other than Rogers is the only way to see HD from Canada. And disturbingly in that vein, they now show Ottawa Toronto on the 9th on 770 SD only in the center ice schedule, and this game is undoubtedly the featured game on HNIC opening weekend. The Habs play in Pittsburgh that night and there is an HD feed on CI, presumably the Pens feed.

I want to see the NHL Network schedule as much as the next person but we all need to try and be patient. It will appear some time before puck drop next Thursday and If they are showing an early game on Saturday then I'm pretty sure it will be in HD. As a Leafs fan I'd love for it to be the Leafs game, but given how aweful the Leafs have been for the last five years I'm not expecting the NHL Network to pick all their Saturday games.

As I've said a couple of times here, we need to be realistic about our expectations and full HD of all Canadian feeds just doesn't come under that category. I'll be happy to eat humble pie on this if I'm wrong, but lets all relax and enjoy what we can....

good point...I was being overly optimistic. I was hoping that maybe there was some different method of transmission since the studio was in SD, but the game was in HD. I recall NHL on the Fly being in SD (although it was on NHL Network, so - I was hoping that while they didn't get the studio feed in HD they figured out a way to get the HD feed from the rink - AND (another hope) that they would make that feed available to NHLCI

I did see that (leafs/sens) and I agree that is not a good sign...

I wouldn't put too much stock in what is posted on the NHLCI schedule just yet. Last year when NHL Network took the early CBC game this would often cause last minute schedule changes for the Center Ice Package. Guys we need to wait patiently for the NHL Network schedule and when that has been released the NHLCI schedule will follow.

I think you will be paying $200 or even $300 before even seeing all the HD feeds on CI.
Some things sadly will never happen not because of lack of technology but simply because the demand is not there... like RDS-HD on CI, IMO will never happen even in 20 years when we will be paying $1000 for CI

Not looking good so far. On DTV's website for Saturday (10/9) game vs. Islanders there is only one feed listed. Not sure if it's Isles or Stars. Darn...

I think the CI standard practice is they won't go out of their way to get a non-RSN feed if the game is on an already carried RSN. So the feed you refer to will more than likely be the Islanders.

Out of curiosity, what is the problem with the quality of this Flames/Oilers preseason matchup on NHL Network. It appears to be in the appropriate 16:9 ratio, however, the quality is worse than a SD broadcast. Worse than an upconvert. Reminds me of watching old 1980's hockey game highlights. It looks that bad.
