Yeah the value of Center Ice has went down for me because of this too but Directv did give me an installment off the price and I do like watching hockey in general, so I will keep it. Plus I doubt this will be a problem the whole season. I bet this whole thing is settled within the next month or two...Let's hope anyways!

It's a national game. It shouldn't be blacked out at all.

This may have been mentioned previously, though I didn't see it.

I notice Rogers Sports Net broadcasts of the Canucks, Flames, and Oilers (that are carried on NHLCI on DirecTV) the broadcast is a SD 3:4 format that is stretched out to 16:9. Not sure where in the process it is stretched, but it really makes the PQ much worse than it needs to be.

I prefer to see SD content in the 3:4 even though it does not fill the screen on my HDTV. Watching it in the original format helps reduce the distortion that is introduced by stretching the picture. There is already plenty of distortion introduced from compression and from reformatting between MPEG-2 and MPEG-4.

I’m an Oilers fan and really enjoy watching their broadcasts. It is often better viewing to watch them on my older (and smaller) SD TV

Press the Format button on your Directv control until it says 480i Cropped.

When will you stop with the "Canadian CI has XYZ" posts in the Directv CI thread? :nono2:

Looks like the Leafs game tonight will have the Rogers Sportsnet HD feed on 770-1. A Canadian HD feed on DIRECTV!

Yeah we've seen one of those already this year, so I believe that one. But they have two HD feeds for the Canucks game (on the satellite guide). That one I'm having a hard time believing.

As a former Dish CI member for the past 4 years Direct's Ci is heaven. I left cause of the Fox mess, what a blessing in disguise.

You're not lying. I left Dish before all of the Fox mess but I couldn't be happier with the HD Center Ice games I'm getting with Direct. I would be hating it so much right now with Dish, not being able to have my local FSN and even less HD games on Center Ice now.

I didn't get to see the Canucks game last night. Did D* show the Canadian feed in HD?

You didn't see them, because they didn't play last night. They have been off since last Friday, but do play tonight. Only the Colorado feed is in HD, on 775-1. The Vancouver feed is just SD on 776. :D

Maybe they changed it today. My H24 was showing two HD feeds for this game yesterday. I knew it had to be a mistake anyway...

Indeed.... There's no need to rub it in for those of us who are fans of Canadian teams and who would like to see Canadian broadcasts....

Yeah, it is still on the hr24 onscreen guide on 776-1 as HD. But online it shows the Avs feed as the only HD feed (on 775-1). Knowing what we know, I would almost guarantee that the game will not be available in HD on 776-1, especially since online it says it is only available in SD, but I guess there is always that .001% chance.

I hope there is a Vancouver HD feed, Altitude has the worst broadcasts in the NHL this year IMHO. Their banner commercials covering part of the screen and sound effects playing during actual gameplay are really obnoxious.
