I've always been a Center Ice faithful, but this season I am thinking of trying both since they're significantly discounted.

One other aspect that I'm thinking about - Outside of CBC HNIC and a few Sportsnet Ontario games, DirecTV rarely has HD Canadian feeds (ie: TSN). GameCenter may give you some additional options in terms of feeds. The biggest unknown for me will be the quality of said feeds...

If I need my NHL game on the go, I just login to my SlingBox ;)

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Game Center Live blacks out the intermissions, which means no HNIC studio stuff between periods on the CBC games.

I just want to watch a game.. Have fun with statistics about perfect sound and perfect moving pittures. You are the true and only king of real HD and I bet the Internet believes that it's a pretty boss feat. Old men on the Internet need to feel like they are in control of something I guess.. Smile.

I'm not sure what exactly your problem is. The idea that picture and audio quality are an important aspect of experiencing sports broadcasts for many people is not a new or hard to follow concept. Just because it isn't a priority for you, doesn't mean it isn't for others.

will NHL network still use WGN feeds from time to time. Also what about the best goals of the week and on the fly / NHL Tonight has used WGN feeds as well.

No problem. I just think that your vast knowledge about PQ and Direct TV is a noteworthy feat. It's neat-o. You tell all the posters on DBS talk how it is. That too is also neat-o. It must feel great to have all the right answers regarding displays, HD and Direct TV. King of the old man Internet. My theatre is bigger then your theatre.

I will pay the extra few bucks, for CI, to see as many games in true HD, as possible.

Same here. I like a crisp picture and sound that makes me jump. I don't even want to go to the ballpark, rink or theater anymore. Center Ice/MLB Extra Innings for me. Spoiled? YES!

Please take the side conversations to PM, it would be nice to read the threads without all of the extras.

Yep. Going to the games isn't nearly as convenient for me as it once was. Hockey is a no-go since I live hours from the nearest team. I want the best experience I can get from home.

So has anyone tried to speak to a retention CSR to see what kind of deal they can get? If it's $60 for the year for NHL CI on DirecTV, one would think given the past history of CSR roulette with sports packages that getting a $20 Gen Retention Credit should be easy, if not $30. I would think that for some customers they might just comp it with a $60 credit. Last two seasons I got NHL CI for $50 off the price. I know it's a different situation, but it's still retention CSRs with credits to hand out, right?

They probably can't do too much until Saturday since you can't order until then.

You can't order it [strike]reportedly[/strike] until Saturday, but since pappy appears to already be a subscriber, maybe he can call to cancel it. Although I don't recommend this as a 'strategy'. You shouldn't say you're going to cancel unless you're actually willing to do it.
