    Hi trh.

You're example was exactly my point.

Finding results in a pricing thread shows a lack of consideration by some posters, especially when there is a forum and a thread specifically for results.

Hopefully, our small discussion here will prevent what happened to you from happening again this year.

    Cheers,
    cmasia

If the first 3 days of the new season are any indication, it appears there is no change in the feeds we'll be getting for Canadian teams, outside of HNIC.

Sunday: Sharks v Flames - Flames SD Only

Sunday: Oilers v Canucks - 2 SD feeds

Monday: Jets v Bruins - No Jets feed at all

Monday: Sabres v Leafs - Leafs HD

Monday: Panthers v Senators - Senators SD only

Monday: Ducks v Flames - Flames SD only

Last year we did get some Leafs HD, so no changes from last year...so far.

PS to Lord Vader: Every thread needs an enforcer. You're hired! :)

    1. Not sure what any of this has to do with pricing (NHL CI Pricing is the topic of this thread).
    2. If you were following the other thread, you would have read a post that explains this.

I see the CI can now be ordered online through DirecTV.com. It's official: one payment of $59.96 or four payments of $14.99.

Question: has anyone been successful in getting any "freebies" by complaining that DirecTV is $10 more than every other provider? If so, who did you talk to to get it? Regular CSR or retention? What did you get?

I'm still mad at the NHL for having this lockout to begin with, and I'm on the fence about whether or not I want to put any money in their pockets this year. But it's a pretty good price.....

Hmmm... I believe there must be 2 very large considerations when "pricing" anything:

    A) the "content" of the item, and

    B) the "perceived value" by the buyer of the item being being "priced".

Without measuring content and value, price means nothing.

We may end up agreeing to disagree, but I honestly think discussion of what is and what is not included in CI is very relevant to this thread.

    Cheers,
    cmasia

So this is what I see: http://www.directv.com/sports/nhl

It says... "This sports package is currently out of season.
Please check back again later to order online."

It also says ...Free Trial Jan. 19-31
No price is given, no option to buy...?

Maybe refresh your browse or clear your cache? It gives me the option to order.

Whats strange is that I couldn't see the pricing when I was logged into my account. Once I logged out completely, then the pricing did appear. And I wonder if past subscribers will get some sort of discount off this price?

That is probably the reason why it is $10.00 more than everyone else, to many people asking for freebies.

Directv has more HD games then cable.

Fios is actually the first one, that offers 5 HD where I live.

but when I had Comcast philly had 0 in HD.

    most places have 2

    some have 4

but you get more HD with D

If it is still there when you log back in, the act of logging off probably cleared that part of your cache.

OK, to bring this back around to pricing, last season (2011-12), CI was $172 for a 1,230 game season. Or $0.14 per game. Very few Canadian HD feeds.

This shortened season is $59.96 for 720 games. Or $0.083 per game. And it appears from the current guide, the number of HD Canadian games will be similar.

Yet you're hoping for more HD. I think that is an unrealistic expectation.

Oilers v Canucks if you look at the Canucks web site seems to show NO tv

I don't think directv will pay for the fees for TSN jets.

They have one rogers HD feed they should try to get the rest of them. Also I think rogers some how gets NFT ST from directv even to the point where the fine print in ad's saying only on directv still shows up.

I had read on another forum, but think the guy was confused and wrong, that NHL Center Ice on DirecTV is $60 for this season and if ordered that price would be locked in for next season as well. The first part is true but I doubt the second part is. I thought I would check in with your folks. Too good to be true right?
