Because even though not HD, the upconverted picture quality transmitted by the "HD" RSN channels is better than on the SD channels, sometimes significantly so. SatRacer discussed this at the beginning of last year -- DirecTV was unsure that they wanted to do it, because complaints like yours would be generated. The majority of us provided feedback that we'd prefer to get the upconverts on the -1 channels.

When there are two feeds - one in real HD and one upconverted SD it's not possible to tell which is which and you may record the SD version instead of the HD version.

I must agree I'd rather have the upconverts - just not with the [HD] logo when they are not really HD!

Im just happy to see that compared to Cablevision, D* has a way better PQ for SD and HD games. And since Cablevision had ZERO games in HD for the last 5 years, just getting a few games in HD a night is amazing....and even if the game is SD, like I said before the PQ is so much better....I can actually see the puck.

Also, I just think that for the Rogers HD games, that D* cant get the HD feed since it might be too far or too much to transmit.....but then again I am new to this anyways.

Why are some HD games highlighted in green and others in yellow?

    Thanks

Yellow are games on channels DirecTV carries - no reason we shouldn't get them in HD. Green are games we should get but also might not. Some examples Versus games where Golf may have the HD channel instead of VS. NHL channel where the canadian games are in HD, no real guarantee we get the HD feed of the game.

Hey hockey fans... I posted a question/thread here:

    http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=144696

and wonder if you fans have noticed this... it has to do with recording hockey games, pressing pause while the game is recording, and then going to the LIST menu and trying to play the recorded game only to get the dreaded "Would you like to delete this recording?" error.

Please let me know if this has happened to you...

    thanks...

Not sure if Versus has an exclusive on the time slot but kinda doubt it.

Might we get the Philly game??? Personally I don't know and don't care.
I'll be watching the Stanley cup rematch and then the Sharks.

You have the Toronto-Calgary game in yellow. Do you really think we'll get it in HD? It's not listed on the Directv site in HD.

I'm sure it will be the Isles feed, oh well at least it's HD. Just realized it's a 2:00 PM start, I'll be setting the DVR for that one and watching the same two games you are. San Jose has been a fun team to watch this season.
