HNIC is shown every Saturday starting with the pregame at 6:30 EST, followed by game one (usually Toronto game) then game one postgame.

Game #2(teams vary) is then shown with postgame following.

There is only one feed for HNIC games.

As for now, HNIC in HD is NOT shown.

The Rangers/Pen games is on MSG in HD, and FSN Pittsburgh (SD). No idea why this game isn't listed on the NHL CI sked. They should have at least one feed in SD and the MSG HD feed available too. These two channels are carried already.

I have two machines, will probably set one to record MSG and MSG HD and the other to record Fox Pittsburgh. Will see what is on at gametime and kill a recording or two. :)

So I subscribed to the sports package to get post game for sabres since the Ci coverage ends when the agme ends. Last few games however the coverage on 627 is ending right at the game not after the post game. I understand that 627 is a NYa however as a subscriber to the sports package I should get the programming. Seems like whenteh Ci feed goes black same thing is happening on the RSN as well for me.

I had the same thing. Sitting there watching the game and during the second period boom it cuts out and turns to 721. I tried calling but waited on hold for 15min than hung up. I just finished the game in SD

My constantly babysat HR20 has missed more games this season
than my SD Tivo's wishlist did all of last season. You can't label
the home feed and the away feed, but you can reasign the
channel hours before game time? Plus the stopping feeds early or
starting them late problem. Stop handling the Center Ice package
so amateurishly! I think we're all owed an apology and some
compensation at this point without needing to call it in to a CSR.

My guide is showing the Avalanche and the Ducks are playing tonight and the game is listed on 644 and 653. When I tune to both channels I am getting the "This program is not available in your area. (727). I have the CI package and live in Florida. Anyone know what's up with this?

funny, i live in l.a. and the game was 727'd for me on nhl hd. it was on fswhd, though. whew!

ya know, i still don't get the 727 rules. either i'm 727'd or not. if i'm not 727'd, then why selectively 727 some channels. if i got the green light to see a game, open up the floodgates and unblock every available channel. know what i'm saying?

It was blacked out on NHL HD to protect the rights of the local RSN. That's how the NHL's rules work for national games that aren't contracted as exclusive.

Yeah it is about two things, not just one.

    1. The broadcast itself is copyrighted. So they protect the content (including announcers, etc.)

    2. The commercials

    Number 2 is more critical.

Are they EVER going to get the guide right?!?!

OK, I live on the West Coast, and I am an Islanders fan, so for me the games all start before I get home from work. In many, if not most, cases the guide listing has the SD version of the game available, but the HD version is listed as "To Be Announced" on NHLCI. This is in cases where I KNOW that the game is in HD on FSNY! So I can't set my DVR to record "To Be Announced." As a result, I set my HR20 to record the SD version, but my HR21 is epxerimenting with an autorecord, and it always (so far) has gotten the HD feed from channel 624 (I think that's the one for FSNY).

Why can't they get the HD programming info right in NHLCI more than a few hours before the puck drops? This is really aggrivating for a DVR owner! I can't change the channel if I turn on the game and the screen is black! It is already too late by then!

I can. It is called a manual recording.

But, I agree, the guide data should be at least 2 days out and I can't understand why it can't be more. There are logistics involved of what channel goes where I am sure, but isn't that why there is a -1 channel for every NHL channel, so they have full flexibility?

I've noticed this lately on both CE and LP.

It's similar to the problem on MLB EI, where the games on EI channels would go disappear from the guide at random times, causing constant search problems.

The last two nights, the HD games were not listed on the CE/LP channels till after midnight ET. Until this gets fixed, it's essential to check your settings the night before, or before leaving in the morning.

If Sartellite Racer or any other knowledgeable poster is reading this, what's the problem here?

But with EI HD games until now, there were only two channels so things could change.

Yes. That was an SD problem, but no less irksome.

Still, you'd think that DirecTV would be able to list the guide info at least a couple of days in advance.
