The YankeeNets want a new arena in Newark, over the Continental Arena, being claimed outdated. What was the latest from that? What benefit does the YankeeNets have keeping the Nets as a NJ team name over New York team name? I read that Nets, although performing well, have pitifully low attendance records. Sixers had a much stronger attendance record, mostly because of AI. Nets are getting attention only because they are doing well now, but still not enough. For New Yorkers, its bit out of the way reaching the arena. Wouldnt moving them to somewhere in New York boroughs make more business sense? Lot of North and Central NJ viewers have always been Knicks fans. Knicks have been carried on MSG which is more predominant over the coverage Nets have. Being in NY means, More fans, more ratings... Another dumb thing, DirecTV doesnt offer some Central NJ (Mercer, Ocean Co.) customers access to YES in Total Choice. No RSN is given. Meaning although DirecTV carries YES, customers in Central NJ (that get YES and all the NY RSNs on Comcast or RCN with basic cable) dont get YES on DirecTV. In Southern NJ(Burlington Camden Gloucester Salem Cumberland Atlantic or Cape May counties), we are in Comcast country and dont follow the NJ teams, (Comcast here only carries CCSN), and we dont get access to most of those games unless a league pass is taken. I'd think DirecTV should be more concerned that some cable customers in Central NJ (that get NY RSNs on full basic cable) dont get the NY RSNs with TC+.
