I have a USB hard drive connected to my router (Netgear WNDR3700).

When I caught some 'young people' using a few DVR's on the floor with some sort of made up bowling game, I backed up my small collection to my USB drive. I though I would give DLNA a try today with my HR21's.

The VOB files play fine, but there is no audio. As a matter of fact, the DVR even shows a warning message about that, and asks if I want to play the movie anyway.

Everything looks great, but no sound.

BTW, the file plays over DLNA just fine to my Sony Blu-Ray player, audio and all. It also plays fine on any computer or device in the house.

The only issue is with the DVR.

Most likely, you have an incompatible audio format in your files. you need to convert the audio to something such as MPeg2 to be able to play them on the DVR.

    Thanks for your response!

I find it puzzling that the audio works on everything I have except for my DVR's.

What would I use to convert the audio?

I think TVersity will do it. Google and check it out.

Yes, it will - but I don't want to leave my computer on all the time.

As I said in my OP, I have a USB drive connected to my router as a NAS. It works great for everything except when it comes to audio over my DVR's.

Perhaps someone can tell me how change the audio in my files?
